How I Met Your Mother - Part 3

Yeah I think they would try to be more stealth in their casting of the Mother. So I think it's a red herring. Partly because I'm also holding out for Alison Brie.

Alison Brie or Autumn Reeser. :o:up:

People actually have actresses in mind for who will play the mother?

Btw Alison Brie would be perfect.

F**k. I just agreed with two LOST fans with LOST usernames. Hell must have froze over.

Or was I dead the whole time? Nah, that's just stupid. :o

The Mother is the single most important piece of casting this side of the Batman reboot boards. :o:up:

**** it. This is MORE important. :argh:

IT IS!!! :cmad:

I'm tempted to say the mother should be blonde, just because the group already has a brunette and a redhead.... I mean, a two brunettes/one redhead trio? That's just ****ing silly. :o

I just saw Mary the Paralegal and I really wished she was the mother because she was awesome. But I agree, I always felt like the mother should be blonde. I know they did that bit with the kids being blonde had he married Stella, but I don't think that should affect who the mother is.

the ending to this weeks episode was really touching
really hoping they introduce the mother in the season finale

I must say though, I really love the first two seasons, and its mostly because of the Ted and Robin stuff. Had they not ruled her out in the first episode, I would say that I would have wanted her to be the mother. So with all that said, I really hope they can get someone who can top her, because those early storylines really set the bar high.

It was important that they did rule her out that early, though. Could you imagine how much *****ing people would be doing right now if they hadn't? Shoot, they ruled her out in the first episode and there's still people who think there's a chance...

Yeah, looking back after seeing where they are now, it makes a lot of sense why they decided to start the story where they did, since its because of Robin that he meets the mother. But just seeing how far Ted would go for her, and how he never really had that same fire for anyone else really makes me hope that they go back to what made him the guy you can't help but root for. With Stella, Zoey and then Victoria the second time, I couldn't help but feel like he was just settling for something.

I personally don't want a big name actress. I don't want to look at the mother and see Allison Brie. I want to look at her and see Ted's perfect mate.

I agree on the big name part, I just don't know that Alison Brie qualifies as one. :oldrazz:

But yeah, given that like 90% of Community's viewership is made up of people on the Hype, she'd probably be more recognizable to us than I might like.

I kinda hope they don't announce the name at all and be completely taken by surprise. For a moment when Jayma Mays came into the bar I was like, oh wow could it be her? But it wasn't the case.... or is it?

See, they had announced that she would be in an episode a while back, so it wasn't much of a surprise. But either way, she's not the mother because Ted said nothing ever happened after they first met back in season 1.

I was thinking the same thing, just based on the line "I want 45 more days with you." After the stuff they did with Robin not being able to have kids, I wouldn't put it past the to go that dark with Ted.

I wish I remembered exactly what it was, but I read a theory that actually made some sense, about the mother being dead, and Ted ending up with Robin in the end anyways, and would have allowed for the story to end with Ted meeting the mother, and Marshall winning the bet with Lily. The Marshall / Lily bet is really the only thing out there that has me wanting Ted and Robin together, and thinking it may be any kind of possibility.

But no matter the reason why Ted was the way he was, because she dies or because he's just tired of being alone, I agree with the poster that said his speech hit me right in the feels.

She's not really a name actress, per se. I wouldn't even call her a big name tv actress. She's known, but shes not huge by any means.

This weeks episode. :(

I cried like a baby. :(

And then they sang one of my favorite Billy Joel songs.. :(

And it was all too much to handle. :(

My buddy Phil's theory. Saw two episodes and immediately formulated the idea that Ted gets married, has two kids but the mom dies and he marries Robin.

He has a stepmom and he calls her "Aunt Sarah". It's how he got the idea.

Weird episode...it didn't really do much, felt like them yelling "yeah we know we lost the focus on Ted so here it is, we're getting back on track now".

Also, I always assumed the mother is a blonde.
