I got no problem with a straight man, (and Jerry was no straight man) I just think Teddy West Sides a *****e. :o

I don't think Radnor is the problem, but rather with the direction that they've taken his character when things aren't focused on him. Ted is kind of a big loser when you take away his romantic side.

Yeah, Radnor's a good actor. His acting with Ted isn't he problem. Ted's the problem.

When you come into a thread asking "Why isn't this show cancelled?", that's at least borderline trolling.

And I should know, I do it all the time when it comes to Two and a Half Men. :o

Liked tonight's episode, first ep I mildly enjoyed Penn's character.

How about the both of you stop doing that then.....

I guess so. I should've put "used to", but I still feel the temptation. :o

Didn't laugh much at last night's episode but it did have some good emotional scenes with Marshall and his father. I disagree about Ted being the least funny. He's had some good comedic moments every now and then during the past 7 years or so. I wouldn't call him a loser either. He's at the top of his career currently and has a stable job teaching at Columbia University.

I want Ted's daughter......... yummmmm

i like HIMYM new year episodes. good stories

Last episode was great. Marshall becoming more like his father and Lily at the end with her dad is why I love HIMYM like I do.

They have to introduce the mother before the end of the series. They have to!

I have already envisioned the perfect episode.... "How I Met Your Father" It would basically be for HIMYM what "The Other 48 Days" was for LOST. Everything leading up to Ted meeting the Mother, just from the Mother's perspective. Her being at the club on St. Patrick's Day, her being in the classroom on Ted's first day, her being Cindy's roomate. All of it narrated by- wait for it- Lori Loughlin! :awesome:

The structure of the show allows for multiple ways of approaching situations and characters. They hinted something really different with Robin's point of view episode. Too bad they completely erased what happened. It makes sense in a way, is still a sitcom, it shouldn't get so complicated á la Lost (although they do, sometimes).

That. Is. Brilliant.

I still think that in the finale, which is when the mother is revealed, that they're going to do something that involves Ted meeting a ton og girls, and with each one he meets, you think its finally the mother until they do something to completely surprise us as to who it is.

Are they really gonna end the show after he meets the mom? I know it's called "How I Met Your Mother" but it seems like they'd keep it up for at least 1 more season with the mom.

I'm thinking that, given CBS' tendency to keep shows on the air for as long as humanly possible, there will be an extra season after this next one, bringing the number up to 9.

I think it's been said that we will find out who the bride is by the end of this season, and I'm thinking that all next season will be working up to the wedding day, presumably ending with Ted meeting the mother. Then a final season 9, with Ted and the Mother getting to know eachother.

That's just best case scenario for me.

But I remember Segel stating that he (and I think he said other members of the cast) don't want the show to go past 8 which is when their contracts end.

$$$$$$$$

CBS throws enough money their way and sets a definitive end date, and I'm sure they'd go for it. Or maybe a limited number of episodes, like they did with the last season of Friends.

I always compare this show to Smallville because in both you already know the ending to some extent, but the focus is supposed to be more on the journey and how the main character gets to where he's meant to be. So because of that, I don't think they need or should do anything with the mother past her first appearance. At best they should show a montage of their relationship in the last few minutes. But the show is more about how Ted becomes the man he needed to become to meet the mother, not what he does with the mother.

I know what he does with her. Know what I'm sayin?

Also this is kind of a stupid question and it may be one where the answer is, "Dude, it's a tv show", but...Has Ted's narrating of the story really only lasted a few hours in the show's present time or do his kids not change clothes?
