It's pretty obvious she isn't the mother. He's been calling her by her first name since he first met her, so if she was the mother I'm pretty sure the kids would have questioned that right away.

He's suppose to meet the mother at the wedding and well he didn't meet Zoey there so this whole him liking Zoey thing needs to end because we know she isn't the mother and I'm starting to get tired of him falling in love with every girl he meets and its going to take away from the impact of him meeting the mother.
So the cast has posted a video saying that once they reach 10 million fans on Facebook they will reveal the identity of a very special lady they've kept secret for about 6 seasons. So go become a fan if you haven't. But I do doubt it's the Mother. So who could it be?

And assuming they go to eight seasons, I think Zoe will probably end up being the last major girlfriend in Ted's life before the mother. I think this storyline runs out the rest of this season, maybe going into 7th season. And then the eighth season is a season long love story of Ted and the Mother.
I kinda feel like Zoe's going to meet a tragic end, like they're too good for each other and now that she's divorced I can't see them just breaking up over something trivial, I think she's going to end up in some kind of a car accident and Marshall's dad was the showrunners getting used to dealing with that kind of a tone of story.
The latest episode really made me like Zoe so it's kind of sad that she's probably not the mother. I hope she is indeed the last major girlfriend of Ted's before the mother comes along. I think Zoe will be key into the introduction of the mother. Otherwise I can't see why they would have her.
Really getting to like Zoey although I don't think she's the mother for the reasons others have outlined. Question is will the writers allow Ted to have an affair with a married woman? Especially as her husband The Captain seems such a good guy, the great Kyle Maclachlan essentially recreating his character from Sex and the City (anyone else keep wanting to ask him where Tennile is?)
As I said before the central theme of HIMYM seems to be how we all sell out as we get older and that certainly seems true of Marshall.
So Barney has a clue for his dad? Love Lily's dress, 'Gosh look at those!' (anyone name that quote?). To my shame I never got the significance of Marshall and Lily 'eating a sandwich' in their flashback first time around
I think the mother will be an unseen character, the series ends when Ted meets her but we never see her face. Or, given what great Buffy fans the producers are it'll be SMG or a blonde ED
Missed the live showing of the episode so I thought I would have to wait till tomorrow to view it on CBS' website but they put it up tonight. Props to you CBS on your quickness.
So anyway, I remember reading this Norah character was going to be a recurring love interest for Barney and I'm a little conflicted about her. I like her character and she has a cute accent but then I feel like putting Barney in a relationship is killing his character a little bit. Feels like this might become a Barney/Robin/Norah love triangle.
naw, Norah seems like an awesome match for Barney. We're getting to see Barney's character progress with the story arc about his father, and now we see another aspect of him growing up and actually liking a girl.
I think its about time we see him with a girl and get to forget about that Robin nonsense.
It's going to be interesting to see how they approach Norah. I feel like she'd be most interesting if she was the girl who didn't fall for any of Barney's tricks and instead was the girl who actually got to him emotionally.
.......then they'd break up and he'd go back to old Barney.
