How I Met Your Mother

I kinda felt like Ted became an ass in season 3 after he stopped dating Robin. It was almost like he was becoming more like Barney than his old romantic self, which is why I liked how Robin told him not to marry Stella because it really wasn't the kind of ending he deserved. I stopped rooting for him for a while there.

I do think the wedding will be Barney's. maybe Norah's travel visa expires or something so it kinda forces their relationship to that point. but I'm glad we're getting a viable romantic interest for Barney. It's about time, since I really didn't care for Barney and Robin at all.

I am surprised people actually want Barney and Robin together again….

I personally did not like these two as a couple
(don’t get me wrong, I like them to together, as friends, just hanging out or out on the town, some of my favorite episodes, involved them) but, they were not good as a couple, an I think they had a good reason for breaking up

further more, they haven’t really built up, or hinted at them even getting back together, lead alone, getting married anytime soon, it would feel kinda forced, also they’ve both always been pretty firmly against the idea of married (grained, they have both developed, an grown as characters, a lot since, but, still)

But, most of all….

if it is their wedding, I think it would seem like anyone Ted meets there, would feel forced, like he was just getting with them out of desperation…. I mean, seeing his two frends, one of whom, he was once in love with (an pretty much the main reason for them breaking up was that she didn’t want to marry) and his other friend whos also been against marrage…. getting married before him
I would imagined, would make him feel like he’s running out of time and needs to get wedding, now

just saying

Actually I would argue that they have been hinting at the two getting back together this entire year. Now whether or not all these hints are red herrings remains to be seen but going off this year alone they've...

1. Shown only Marshall, Lily and Ted at the wedding. Where's Robin and Barney?
2. That one episode where Barney was trying to pick up women by acting like a little schoolkid where Robin was dejected because she realized she's quite independent in most relationships. Where does she go? Barney's apartment. Barney tells her she's the best woman he's ever been with, or something to that effect.
3. The episode where they were trying to see Woody Allen at that restaurant Barney tackles Ted in the end so Robin can win and prove herself a New Yorker.
4. The last episode where they both realized they hadn't had one of those one night stands that ex's have after a while.
5. Also, and I remember reading this in an interview with one of the creators, that it's up for interpretation whether Robin is trying to get Barney to hook up with Norah because she's trying to get him to grow up or because she's uncomfortable with him as just friends and needs him in a real relationship to get over him.

On a side note, me and my friends realized the other day why we loved this show so much, and it's because for the most part we identify a lot with the major "archetypes" of the show and a lot of the quirks that the show identifies are things that we've thought up ourselves (just not with as clever names like The Crazy/Hot Scale).

Good points, but they'll probably just write these off with a few throw away lines if they actually do get married.

I agree with all of your theories

Not only that there is also where the writers have said they wish they didn't break them up when they did after seeing how well they worked together as a couple.

writters also said they wish they didnt say in the first episode that Robin is ther aunt and not the mother.

I've heard that.. you can tell they didn't know where it was going with the show when they started it.. its still entertaining nonetheless

See I think that's the one they really messed up. Imagine watching season one and two and finding out after season two that Robin wasn't the mother.

But I imagine a lot of people would've felt lied to and the ratings might plummet. And they'd have to find a way around calling her "Aunt Robin", she wouldn't be "mom" it'd just be "Robin" and people would find that suspicious.

only if he still referred to all his other friends as aunts an uncles...
if he just called them all by name, only, no one would of really thought anything of it...

on a side note, I also always thought, the "an that’s how I met your aunt Robin" line in the first episode, needed slightly more of an explanation... something like "is ok kids, she not really related to me"... lol

I think it's funny the guy Robin picked up, Nate (Scooby) actually played Fred in the new live action Scooby Doo movies on Cartoon Network.

im so glad barney didnt go in the cafe, im not ready to see him settle down

I was actually sort of disappointed. But in true HIMYM fashion, I love how they did the reveal that he didn't actually go in.

Nora's hot. Go for it, Barney! Kiss her! (I'm not really saying "Kiss", kids.)

:hehe:

I love how Ted tells the kids they made "sandwich" brownies.

Wow. I thought tonight was a great episode. I remember thinking as Barney was meeting Norah's parents that this was a gamechanging episode and then it panned out and we see Barney standing outside and I thought that was a brilliant switch.

I would've stayed along for the ride if Barney decided that he wouldn't to give up that life and try something new, but I think this is better, Barney realizing that some part of him wants to grow up but for whatever reason not being able to grow up.

And I thought Scooby was being played by the guy who played Ted's assistant for an episode in Season 4, the one that was bangin Robin. They looked so much alike.

I can for sure see her returning. Barney will come to realize how important she is to him. I loved the episode, especially the switch at the end. They sure have stepped up the emotional tone of the show this season. I like it.

That little shake Barney did at the end of the episode speaks volumes of the character.

He has grown up and he knows it but he is scared of change and when he has that shot old Barney does the whole eye pointy thing that always used to sway over Ted and Marshall.

After tonights episode I could see the wedding being Barney's... but it would seem a bit rushed.

To be fair, we do not know how much time has passed between now and the wedding. It could still be Barneys, but further down the line. It could be a difference of years.

Yeah, I might have missed something, but how sure are we that we will see the wedding this season?
