How I Met Your Mother

Not sure at all. It could be a real long tease. That's if it isn't Punchy's (IMO, I don't think it is), which should be soon I think. Just realized that next episode introduces [BLACKOUT]Barney's father[/BLACKOUT]. That should progress Barney even further.

Rewatched the episode and at the end Barney gives this look that reminds me a lot of the look in his origin episode, just this cold emotionless glare. It wasn't pain, it was numbness.

And I have a feeling that the season finale will show us who gets married but we'll have to wait like another year to get to that point time wise. Like the marriage might be post Marshall/Lily's baby.

I feel like the glimpses of the wedding are just like the glimpses we keep getting with the goat in the bathroom. I think they showed that a season or two before it actually happened.

Ted first mentioned the goat in season 1. Then we saw part of the incident in season 3 but then Ted remembered that it happened the next year in season 4.

Exactly, I feel like thats the same with the wedding and the yellow umbrella, it keeps being hinted at and shown, but Ted hasn't gotten to those parts of the story just yet, and they could been years away.

Loved them bringing back the "Bang" song, my friends sing that song sometimes.

Oh, and is it just me or did Norah nursing Barney back to health remind anybody of Season Two's Christmas episode where Robin did the same thing to Barney?

Never though I'd say this, but Barney's story is actually the most interesting to me right now. I couldn't really care less about Zoey, and Robin's love interests have always been secondary story fodder. So seeing Barney with this much attention on a romantic story line is exciting.

Yeah I agree, his storyline has been fantastic, and looks to be picking up again when we meet his father.

Marshall's storyline has been great this season too imo.

Meh Marshall's story arc seems really random to me. His dad died for no reason at all. I like the Barney/Nora story but something needs to happen soon, or else it's just the Barney/Robin thing all over again.

I have a feeling Jason requested more material to sink his teeth into, he was getting to the point where he was phoning it in...

Marshall's dad dying was random, but that is what happens in real life and that was the purpose of the episode.

The season finale's title is "Challenge Accepted". Sounds pretty Barney-centric to me.

Just caught up with the last two episodes. I knew that Zoe wouldn't be the mother from the beginning but I still have to wonder what's the point of introducing her? So far she doesn't seem integral to Ted meeting the mother. At least we know the break up will be a bad one. Loved the Barney/Nora storyline. I wanted him to go to that cafe for real but I loved the switch at the end. I don't think Nora is finished with the show though. I agree with you guys that the wedding could possibly be shown a year or two from now (like the goat). The wedding could even be the series finale where Ted finally meets the mother.

That's something that I keep wondering about and am really interested to see how they approach it it on the show. I mean, does the series end when he literally meets the mother, or will it end when they start dating or get married?

For some reason I was thinking about it yesterday, and I would kinda prefer if the mother goes after him instead of Ted just falling haplessly in love with another girl again.

it can not end when he meets her .because then we dont know her. and that would not work.

We kind of know her. There have been hints as to what she's like. I'd be fine if it ends with them meeting and they just sort of click. I don't want it dragged out where they date, get engaged, get married, and have kids. At least we know all of that will occur within the next 10 years. :oldrazz:

Loved seeing Barney getting smacked around this Episode.

"And that explains your 14 second cardiac arrest." :funny:

I think it could work if they show them meeting and stuff, and then do sort of a montage of them doing things together and being happy while Ted tells his kids how happy he is with their mother.

I would need at least two episodes with the Mother. I don't know if an entire season of a subplot of Ted romancing the Mother would be enjoyable for me but I would like at least more than one episode, maybe an hour and a half long season finale.

"Challenge Accepted" makes me think Barney's marrying Robin but only so she can get her green card to stay in America. Actually that makes sense for Norah too.

I thought the green card thing is over? Didn't she already apply for US citizenship?

Isn't Robin a duel citizen of America and Canada?

For some reason, if they choose to save the mother for the last episode, I could see it as a running joke for the episode to have Ted meet a lot of girls, and have us wondering if each girl he meets is the mother.
