How many times have you read Watchmen?

hee hee...i admit i skipped the text parts(clarification!: up the back of each chapter) the first time i read it, it was years and years before i read Dan's ornitholigy article for instance. I always skip them, and it's only recently on these boards that someone pointed out Hooded Justice and Capt Metrpolis' relationship to me, I'd completely missed or forgotten that part of the Sally Jupiter text. Yeah, I read far more comics than books, i like the pictures, they help me.
I was just reading in a Dave Gibbons interview aicn linked to that there was once plans for him and AM to do a Minutemen book afterwards, shame they didn't do it, they could've put more chapters of 'Under the hood' in there. I'll link to that interview in case folk have missed it.

I've read it maybe three times. Didn't get to the extra text (like the novel exerpt) 'til the second time, and read the whole thing (including the Black Frieghter stuff) the third time.

And let's clarify, Watchmen includes everything between the front and back cover, the text excerpts included and the Black Freighter, no matter how much you might think it slows down the story.

I read it twice one time before the movie and then again after seeing the movie... Watchmen isnt one that I can read again back to back... Now ones like Long Halloween and Hush I can read over and over and over no problem cant explain why... Watchmen is one of the best Ive ever read... But Ive not even gotten through it a third time... I more or less open it to the parts I like more and read those again...

Just finished reading it for the 1st time yesterday, I wanted to read the novel before seeing the movie. I really enjoyed it but if I read it again, I will skip the non-story parts, they really seemed like filler to me instead of adding much substance to the story. I wouldn't say its the GREATEST GRAPHIC NOVEL EVER...but it was very very good.
