Iron Man 2 How should War Machine be used?

Do you think Rhodey and Stark become actual enemies or might the fight just be for kicks or pride to show who's best?

I hope they just end up as unwilling opponents on opposite sides. Rhodey as the staunch soldier, siding with the government, and Tony as... Tony.

^This.

War Machine will probably come to his senses when Hammer, Vanko and the Combat Drones attack the city.

hopefully he'll get to be in pt 3 and the Avengers..

Iron Man's identity being public was an great twist.

Well that's one way of looking at it. I don't deny that it opened up some interesting possible story lines for the sequel(s). But still part of me can't help but wish that they hadn't done it in the very first movie. In the comics Tony didn't reveal his identity until decades into Iron Man's run in the comics. I'm ok with it, like Ra's Al Ghul being the one who trained Batman. I just wonder what if, ya know?

I understand.

I loved it. They basicly adapted The Ultimates on that subject.

Well, I'm more of a 616 guy. Not that I don't find things about the Ultimates that I like/love, but Tony w/o a secret identity isn't one of them.

He will probably quit being Ironman at the end of this film and hire a guy to wear the suit, as the Stark industries guardian. "I swear its not me anymore, we hired someone to be IM as our guardian." But still that wouldnt take Tony off the spotlight since its his technology and his guardian... So...

Then I would stop watching any and everything Iron Man.

LOL, that's not happening.

"From here on out, I have decided to stop down as role of Iron Man and pursue other interests. I hear River Dancing is fun".

Well he did do stuff like that in the comics. Of course, he hadn't outted himself at the time. He just said he fired the guy in the armor and hired a new guy during the Armor Wars story line.

Ironman was always Stark Industries' bodyguard. He is not a superhero in spandex, and very few people would have the means for such a suit. Therefore Tony admits its his creation, but supposedly its not him in the suit but a bodyguard.

I hope he doesn't step down as Iron Man, at least until after The Avengers.

Remember Tony didn't like the idea in the first movie when he told Agent Coulsen story sounded flimsy to have IM as his bodyguard.

I would love to have a man in an Iron Man suit as my bodyguard.

I hope he doesn't step down as Iron Man ever.

Never liked it in the comics (F_U Denny O'Neil for having Stark miss out on Secret Wars) and I won't like it in the movies.

Stark is Iron Man. He said so himself. And I agree with him.

since the demon in a bottle storyline is going to be incorporated somehow it might go down like this: tony's new found "celebrity" causes him to become more and more dependent on alcohol. rhodey decides to go to hammer to build his own suit of armor to step in for iron man as war machine. maybe tony comes to his senses for the final battle, so he(as iron man) and war machine take on whiplash and the army of hammer drones.
