"Demon in the bottle" isn't in this film. Concepts like Tony collapsing, Hammer armoring villains to take over Stark's business and Iron Man fighting War Machine were used, but Tony won't have alcohol problems in Iron Man 2. Robert Downey Jr. said so himself.

haha. well you did come off as if you think your statement is fact.

favreau did say that it is going to be incorporated into the movie. going from the comic-con footage, rhodey gets parts from hammer. so tony must be incapacitated, or something, if rhodey doesn't go to him.

Tony isn't incapacitated. He won't hand over his technology to the government, so, they steal Mark II/Create an new suit, hire Hammer to add firepower and recruit Rhodes to pilot it.

Tony won't be an ancoholic in this.

he could be borderline. that's a pretty good theory, i'll give you that. i'll bite my tongue somewhat, but favreau does say that they were inspired by the demon in the bottle storyline, but they don't go as dark.

Maybe and hopefully in the third film they can deal with the alchaholism. Just think, no comig book film has dealt with this before. But would that sacrifice the brilliant tone it set up in the first and possibly the second for going darker? Is it neccessary?

Iron Man doesn't have a Phoenix Saga or an Alien Costume Saga, so for the character, Demon in the Bottle is really his most famous story (although, nowadays, Extremis seems to be coming up right behind it).

I like that Favreau and crew are easing into the story with this film, but I would love to see IM3 definitely utilize Stark's addiction to alcohol as a direct result from the pressures of being a hero and public figure.

Armor Wars, Extremis, the Dragon Seed Saga (although I doubt Favreau would have Tony fighting Fin Fang Foom and five other dragons).

Iron Man vs Mandarin is all I want to see for part 3.

Not a huge IM comic fan, but I've never heard of Dragon Seed Saga.

It's one of the lesser known stories. One of my favorites though.

I doubt it would ever work as a movie, but it would sure kick ass as an animated DTV movie.

I don't quite want the "Demon in the bottle" storyline in a movie. The movies managed to give Tony real dillemas without using it, and I kinda prefer it that way.
