DreamWorks Animation and Fox have moved the film up from June 29, 2018 to May 18, 2018 after WB moved The LEGO Movie Sequel to February 2019.

Dean deBlois is returning to write and direct, while the whole voice cast is returning.

Good. The first is one of my favorites, and while I didn't love the sequel as much, I love this world and these characters.

Annecy 2018: Dreamworks To Preview ‘How To Train Your Dragon 3’ And Premiere Short Films

Oh so it’s actually happening? Wonderful!

I think it's great that they've aged the characters up significantly with each film. It's rare when that happens with animated sequels besides Toy Story 3.

They've gone and done grown up.

A+ facial hair.

Weren't they all technically grown up in the last one? Now they are old. :o

One was Dreamwork's CGI masterpiece, the second was really good, bring on part III :)

Likewise. Also I almost forgot this was coming out. :funny:

I love this!

I wonder how much older they are? They were all 21 in the sequel. Also NGL, I expected Hiccup to have a beard kind of like his father's, though not as large.

Love the new costumes. They look fantastic .

Those are great designs. Very excited.

Why is Fishlegs the only one with appreciable facial hair?? As was pointed out, Hiccup should actually have a beard, actually all of the male characters should have either a beard or mustache. They're Vikings, light scruff don't cut it.

Maybe the dragons burn their facial hair off for them?

It's odd that all the characters look different except for Hiccup and Snotlout. They look exactly the same as in the second movie. I wonder why they didn't change them at all?

Character models are costly I guess.

Do any of the books deal with dimensional hopping?
