I have been kicking around two treatments for the Thor film...
1) As Blake... Thor is essentially banished to Earth, and residing in the body of a deceased Dr. Blake (ala Heaven Can Wait, where Warren Beatty's character is put into the body of another person at the precise moment that person dies). So the movie opens in Asgard. As the story unfolds, Thor is banished for his arrogance and warmongering (needing to learn a lesson is responsibility and humility). *Flash*... On Earth, we see fireman extracting a guy from an auto-accident... he checks for vitals, and says, "He's gone"... then with a gasp, the guy sits up dramatically. He has amnesia, but has flashes of his old life in Asgard... and flashes of Dr. Blake's memories (ala RoboCop... seeing images from Peter Weller's cop character's life). That is how he is able to settle into a life as a doctor, by recovering Blake's doctor knowledge. Loki comes a calling on Earth, to get revenge against Thor. He tracks him to Blake... and bit of a psycological thriller ensues. Eventually Thor has total recall. He realizes the cane that he has been using from the car accident injury is Mjolinir, and voila... The battle ensues. Thor wins, and SHIELD monitored the whole thing... The Thor movie closes with Thor returning to the Blake guise, having learned the importance of taking care of people, rather than reveling in battle-lust. In a post-credits roll (ala IM with Fury), Stark approaches Blake and tells him that he knows who he really is, and would like to talk about something.

One again Rich we are on the same wavelength! just check out my idea for the teaser trailer. the only difference is after the climax of the movie I would keep him Thor permantly! It fits into the whole is he a God or isn't he thing from ultimates which I feel really plays well in this semi reality Marvel has created. I would still have basically the same epilogue. Only I would have it take place at peace rally where Thor states his intention to change the world. He shows off some off his lightening power. We see TS walking to the crowd. He mumbles to him self"And they say I got a god complex.Stark listens for a moment then interrupts Thor. Hey Goldilocks! if you really want to change the world then have I got a deal for you...Fadeout
2) A little different... Thor is being a god-figure to the ancient Norse peoples of Earth, and is inciting war and blood shed. Odin punishes Thor for his arrogance and warmongering by trapping him in the the middle / dark ages with no powers, except immortality (just like Highlander). He can be injured and even "killed" but he recovers and is forced to move in and out of homes, and situations across the centuries. Through it all, he faces many threats over the ages, helping people against aggressors. He learns what is means to have a purpose (defending those who need help, and serving justice). He keeps in remote areas, living in the laplands of Scandinavia in modern times, with a rural agrarian life-style. Eventually, Loki shows up (for vengance of course). Odin locked Midgard off from other Asgardians, but Loki finally slips through. He assails Thor, but Mjolinir is revealed to be in a cave (subliminal message from Odin perhaps), along with his Asgardian armor and cape, etc. He makes it there just as Loki tries to take him out. The battle ensues... Thor wins. All the conflict, and trans-dimensional energy, sets off SHIELD sensors and IM is sent to investigate. Thor hears something and looks up... He sees and object zoom in from overhead and land nearby. He walks to the top of a nearby hilltop to get a better look. An armored figure looks up at him, and Thor says "What is your purpose?". The close of IM2 has the same scene, but from IM's perspective...
