How would you do a JLA movie?

Justice League roster: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan, Barry Allen, Orin, Martian Manhunter, Black Canary, Green Arrow, Orion, Big Barda, and Mister Miracle

Villain: Darkseid

Supporting characters: Perry White, Jimmy Olsen, Lois Lane, Snapper Carr

Premise: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lanten, the Flash, Aquaman, and Green Arrow would already have movies so there would be no need for an orign on explaining who they are. Black Canary would be described as a rookie. This would be around a 3 hour epic movie and the best way to describe this is that it would be a 50% Justice League movie and a 50% New Gods movie.

If I were a writer/director, this is what I'd do:

Roster: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash (Wally West), Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Aquaman, Martian Manhunter

My ideal would be to have everyone except Martian Manhunter have their own movies first so you don't have to waste too much time on origin stuff. Then basically Martian Manhunter is the main character of sorts for this film. The story would basically revolve around him and sort of tell his origin without getting bogged down too much with flashbacks and all that kind of stuff since the rest of the characters are well-established.

I would have Lois Lane or some other reporter doing a news flash on TV basically announcing that the world's greatest heroes have issued a statement that they have joined together to form a team called the Justice League. In the event of some major catastrophe, an organized unit of capable figures is ready to take it on by utilizing their individual skills and putting them together to be even more effective in the face of such threats.

For the first film I would probably go with an adaptation of the White Martian story (one of my favorites, and perfect for having J'onn as the focal point). Obviously it'd have to be tweaked here and there to cater to the film, but faithfulness to the comics is TANTAMOUNT. You would get 100% faithful costumes (but not so they look stupid) and the spirit would be there ten-fold. This wouldn't be MY Justice League, it would be THE Justice League.

The sequel would be an adaptation of the Tower of Babel story. It's fantastic drama and a great sequel because it pits the league against itself. Ra's Al Ghul has already been introduced in a Batman film so there are no real big roadblocks here in terms of adapting it. Also, since Hollywood loves trilogies so damned much, it's a great ender to have Batman be kicked out and the league in a weakened state...until NEXT SUMMER!

The third movie would have Batman rejoin the JLA and have them all settle their problems with one another as Darkseid invades and tries to take over. This is epic as hell and a great closer to the inevitable blockbuster trilogy situation. It doesn't get more badass than Darkseid. I mean, come on.

I was thinking that whole heaven and hell story but it'd be a bit too controversial I think to have Superman wrestling an Angel and all that stuff. It'd make for a great story but I see all kinds of problems with parents and the ethical ramifications of showing Superman beating up God's little helpers to little kids. "Do you think he's God?" "Where's God?" blah blah blah. Darkseid kicks ass anyway.

Too bad this will never happen, because I'd literally cream myself if anything like this were possible of the hacks that run things over at WB.

You didn't like Batman Begins?^^

YO! It’s the team machine -- Gonna rock the town without bein’ seen
Have you ever seen a hero Get Down? -- Slammin’ Jammin’ to the new swing sound
Yeah, everybody let’s move -- Vanilla is here with the new Jack Groove
Gonna rock, and roll this place -- With the power of the Super Hero bass
Justice League, ya know I’m not playin’ -- Devistate the show while the Heroes are sayin:

Chorus:
Hero, Hero, RAP! Hero, Hero, RAP!
GO GO GO
Go Hero, Go Hero, GO; Go Hero, Go Hero, GO!
Go Hero, Go Hero, GO. Go Hero, Go Hero, GO!
GO GO GO GO

Lyrics, fill in the gap -- Drop that bass and get the Hero RAP
Feel it, if you know what I mean -- Give it up for those heroes in tights
Just flowin, smooth with the power -- Kickin’ it up, hour after hour
Cause in this life there’s only one winner -- You better aim good so you can hit the center
In it to win it, with a team of six -- that you gotta adore it’s the: Justice League

Chorus

Villians, you better run and hide -- Because one day you might not slide
Choose your weapon but don’t slip -- Vanilla’s in control with the flex of the mic grip
Rockin’ the crowd the way it should be rocked -- With the Miami drop that you like alot
Hittin like a Super Hero when the bass kicks in -- You better check your level
The power of the Hero is strong -- Fightin’ all the crooks until they’re all out cold

Chorus:
Go Hero, Go Hero, GO; Go Hero, Go Hero, GO!
Go Hero, Go Hero, GO. Go Hero, Go Hero, GO!
GO GO GO GO

Chorus:
Hero, Hero, RAP! Hero, Hero, RAP!

You didn't like Batman Begins?^^

I loved Batman Begins to death. I saw it four times at the movies in less than a week. Twice in 24 hours. It was phenomenal. I loved Batman '89 too.

I love Superman: The Movie as well. Watching it makes me tear even sometimes.

I even loved Spider-Man and Hulk as well as the X-Men movies.

Though if I were directing and/or writing ANY of those films, I probably would have done them differently. I respect Batman Begins for what they did-especially after the atrocity of the last franchise-but if I did a Batman movie it would have been very different, starting with the costume. I am all for realism and stuff but there comes a point where you have to say to yourself, "it's a friggin' comic book, let it go." Batman should look like Batman-it doesn't matter if it can be explained or not.

Oh, that's cool. The way you talked about WB I wasn't sure.

I hate them for the silly stuff they do, but those movies are still kick ass. I just think I could just make them more kick ass since I don't give a damn about putting my stamp on it-my stamp would be that what you're getting is what you grew up loving, not "my vision" or whatever. A director having a vision is great, but not when you're adapting something, in which case you have a responsibility to the material and all your stupid ideas about changing this or that to suit your personal intentions should be curbed.

I want to redo mine. I wanted to add some changes.

Here are some of their feelings about the league.

Flash- Though he enjoys working with the others espeically Superman, Black Canary, Wonder Woman and Martian Manhunter, feels as though he is worthless

Martian Manhunter- He is the string that holds the League together. He gets along with everyone. He convinces everyone that they can all work together. He wants the League to be more like a family then a club He is like all of the Justice League member's grandfather.

Bruce Wayne a.k.a Batman builds and finances the Justice League's Watchtower after Martian Manhunter convinces him that they need a headqueters. They hire Maxwell Lord and Lex Luthor to build weapons and devices that could protect the world if the Justice League went rogue. Lex Luthor sees this as his time to shine and be able to destroy Superman once and for all. Maxwell Lord builds an army of cyborgs that are programed to attack any superhumans if the human race ever up against the Justice League. Meanwhile, the U.N and U.S goverment are disapointed by the results of Lex's weapons and talking about getting Lex off of the project. Lex hears these news and he then starts to get worried. His problems go out the window, when a advanced living alien computercalling himself Brainiac makes his way to Earth. Brainiac wants download all of Earth's computer data and knowledge for himself and also conquer Earth and turn it into what he thinks it should look like. Brainiac turns Rudy Jones into a dark purple, faceless monster with a mouth full of sharp teeth that can absorpt energy, super-powers and intellect. He also reanimates Cyrus Gold's corpse into a powerful and mindless zombine that calls himself Solomon Grundy. Brainiac and Lex Luthor are know prepared to take out the Justice League. Meanwhile, Wonder Woman is trying fit in the "Man's World" and trying to get used to things that women do in the "Man's World".
