Transformers How would YOU do it?

I rather liked ARMAGEDDON. Sure it's big and cheesy, but then, so is INDIANA JONES, and in a lot of ways STAR WARS, and those are classics (note: not comparing either to ARMAGEDDON, I am fully aware of just how much hero quest and mythology and history Lucas and his ilk went into, so don't bother). And it's not completely devoid of depth or characterization. And I've always thought there were some pretty solid performances in there to boot.

Well, in that regard you're right. Armageddon is what it is. And I'll add that I'm a fan of Willis and even Affleck (I think he gets a bum rap... he's a pretty good actor). I just think a movie about the end of the world should be... I dunno... kinda serious. Let me put it this way... Men in Black, which IS lighthearted, is an infinitely (infinitely!!!) better *sci-fi* movie than Armageddon IMHO. :yay:

it would be better to use something up to date, like a F22 Raptor.

Agreed, I just posted the F-15 for the sake of it though.

:)

The serious version of Armageddon was called Deep Impact. Also a cool movie, but more realistic and much darker.

how would I do it? well that is an excellent question. thanks for asking!

optimus prime, a well known astronomer on cybertron, is often found staring longingly through his teloscope at the women of earth. he is a love sick robot accidently programmed to experience the full range of human emotions, thus alienating him from his fellow autobots. on one exceptionally lonely night, optimus spots what is in his opinion the most beautiful creature in all of the universe, a human female astronomer, who longingly stares back through her teloscope at optimus. the giant robotic truck is quite embarassed and pulls away from the teloscope, but he cannot stay away for long, and by the time he looks back he sees a group of men sneaking into the observatory where the woman is and procede to kidnap her. optimus tries to warn the woman but his cries of dispair are not heard over the trillions of miles of space in between him and the woman.

knowing that he must do something, optimus asks his best friend, ironhide, to help him save his true love before its too late. even though ironhide does not unerstand the complex emotions that drive optimus, he reluctantly agrees to help. the two assemble a team of autobots to travel to earth and free the woman. while en route their ship is spotted by the evil robot alien megatron and his band of robot space pirates. megatron's jealousy of optimus' emotion chip has grown into all out hatred, and will do whatever it takes to foil optimus' plans.

after an epic battle has taken place between the autobots and the decepticons, optimus finally rescues the woman. the woman comments that it is fate that has brought them together, and with true love's first kiss the spell of the transformers is broken and optimus is given the choice to live out the rest of his life as a human being with his true love, or spend out his days as the great optimus prime, king of cybertron.

Two questions for you...
1. What were you on when you wrote this?
2. Where can the rest of us get some?
