Superman Returns Howard Stern LOVES Superman Returns (he saw it yesterday)

So is SR better than BB?

This was posted above but here you go...

I can't really say it was better since I loved BB but since it is Superman and you really get a chance to see what Superman can do, the action scenes were amazing and better than BB. But I did like BB story a little better. So its almost a wash. I first saw BB on the IMAX and I can't wait to go see Superman Returns on the IMAX as well.

I think what we are looking at here if you want the bottom line is that Superman will not only be a good action film, it will be a solid movie with a good story. POTC2 will be a great action film with a subpar storyline.

I can't wait to see both of them though.

Both will be winners this summer, but I think Superman has an edge because of the marketing explosion we've watched these past two weeks and it's not over yet. . .

I agree, I loved the first POTC but it was not for the story line but because of the characters. The cast was great and they made the film.

strange, gotta question for ya just in case you didn't see it (it was at the bottom of the last page)

strange, you saw the movie? does Routh's digital double stick out as much as people keep complaining about?

Well as you probably know its no easy feat to make a realistic digital human face. I'm not going to blow smoke and say its not noticable but it is in my opinion its the best CGI that has been seen in any film to date. There are a few scene where you also notice the CGI, like when you see Lex's yaht in the ocean and the waves are chopy and its raining, you can tell the digital effects that were added and there are a few scenes in the earthquake sequence that are a little off but nothing major and it really does not take away from the movie at all. I mean if you watch with a close eye any movie with CGI you can find something to complain about.

Well, the reported figure is 260 million production, and the studio gets roughly 55 % of the gross box office. So for WB to break even, the movie would have to have a worldwide gross of 470 million for the studio JUST to recoup production cost. Howard Stern. LOL. Now there is a ringing 5 star review. WB has put a lot into this movie. Better not be another Catwomen.

I don't see that as a problem but with merchandise and DVD sales WB will make tons of money.

Just thinking out loud about box office #'s here. I know it will make money. Box office #'s is only thing I'm intrested in.

Now you tell me, Dancia, or Jessica ?

It's nice to see that Howard liked it, Ive missed listening to that sum b1tch. Had no idea he was a Superman fan either.

Anyway, Ive been reading alot of the posts in this thread and there still seems to be a battle going on between people who love or hate how this movie is looking. I have both something good and bad to say in regards to this. This IS the movie we are getting. It opens in a week and there is nothing anyone who hate sit can do to change it now. Routh is Superman, storylines from Donner's film are continued, Lex WILL have humor to him, the kid will be Supermans, etc etc.

Do I agree with all of this. NO. Personally, I would have taken a different creative direction. But at the same time, I have no problem with the direction this film is taking. It was safe to continue on from the Donner film, and I can respect the balls Singer had to bring his vision to life, right or wrong. This will be a GOOD, although again safe, film. I do wish we were getting darker, cold, coniving Lex, but when I look back at Joker89 and the Green Goblin, those villians acting like goofs didn't hurt the response to the film. Yes, Parker Posey sucks and I wish she wasn't in the film, but I don't think her part is big enough to take away from the film.

Will Brandon Routh mimic Christopher Reeve? To a point yes, I just hope he throws in a little bit of his own take.

What will truly show me the kid of vision Singer has for Superman will be the sequel, showing us things we don't already know.

it's not that bad, considering how long the property was in the predevelopment stage (ie. all the way back to tim burton and Nicholas Lives)

umm, ok? Shouldn't this be in the review thread?

I guess its kind of like that review from that comic related "celebrity". He was entitled to his own thread twice. Can't remember the man's name though. The one who hated the movie and then loved it.

I love and hate Stern equally and usually at the same time, but after reading this I just love him. LOL...tomorrow I'll hate that ***** again, but I just love him now :)

:o She definately hot! But Dancia is a race car driver, and as a guy who loves his motor sports that is WAY MORE SEXY!!

I hate Howard Stern, but now I will show him a little respect.

I agree, and its Danica.

Why is it that people who hate this movie have no logical, unbiased reason to hate it?

Why must most of them come off as pathetic fanboys?

I heard this on the way to work this morning. He hasn't said that much about it that I've heard, but it is very nice to say he loved it. He thinks of himself as a big Superman fan since he grew up Reading the Pre-Crisus books, and actually knows alot about the character from that time.

Robin seemed very happy with it (and she's pretty picky), but of course Ralph had to say the whole "Its good, but not great" bit, and said it's too long.

Im surprised not many other people have Sirius here if you really like Stern. It's got no more "Bulls#!t" holding it back anymore, and they are able to air older shows unedited as well.

I got Sirius...I own stock...of course I have it!

Bet some of y'all wish you bought it when it was cheap :)
