Days of Future Past Hugh Jackman IS The Wolverine Thread - Part 1

I have a question.

Do we know how Wolverine get's to the future. Does the movie just start what 8 years after the credits scene in The Wolverine?

Not sure what you mean. It's just the amount of time that's passed. He isn't time traveled there or anything.

I didn't care much for the Beast/Wolverine exchange at the end of the trailer, but then it fits with the overall tone of the trailer (which I personally also didn't care for). It doesn't aim for gravitas and doesn't really take anything seriously and basically makes the movie look like a quippy team-up romp in the 70s.

Since the film has been described as the darkest X-Men movie yet, I think that lighter moments, or even dark humour, will be welcome in the movie itself.

I think the third trailer is more aimed toward the GA, unlike the 2nd one which was very dark and depressing. I for one will enjoy the switch in the mood.

Yes I'm sure that was the intent. But as far as I know both trailers played at the cinemas and it does make for a somewhat schizophrenic marketing IMO to switch the tone so drastically, and go from pathos to comedy. It's like they're throwing different approaches out and hope that something sticks.

Singer has said the future is dark (in story, humor and just the general look), while the past features more color and generally has more humor.

One thing that has me kinda puzzled is with Wolverine's mind in his younger body (Pre-adamantium claws) how is he going to effectively fight off the sentinels with his bone claws? Remember in X-origins his first fight with Victor Creed, Victor was able to crush his bone claws.

Well they grow right back. They've done so twice already, so I guess if he breaks them off, another pair will just grow in and he'll keep at it.

Yeah he'll grow them back but again he's going to be down if the Sentinels snap them off. He'll have a big problem if they don't grow back quickly.

The Sentinels in the 70s are made of Plastics I thought. And I've read that depending of the thickness of bone, it's actually as strong or stronger than concrete...which is crazy when you think about it.

Amazing what the human body is actually capable of.

his bones probably would break if he actually hit the sentinel with it to cause damage, they would heal but still

I think in the comics his bone claws have been capable of cutting through metal and concrete...I always that that was pretty lame.

I think that Wolverine and beast probably won't be that effective against the Sentinels...I think Magneto will be stepping up here.

In the scene in question I think Wolverine is just trying to take out the turret even if it means shredding his hand.

Again, pretty sure the Sentinels in the 70s are made of plastics...which Wolverine's bone claws should be able to tear apart; considering our bones are actually stronger than concrete.

Then how is Magneto able to manipulate them and make them his personal entourage in that clip from the trailer? Maybe the covering is plastic, but the machine gun Wolverine is aiming for most definitely is not.

I don't think he's manipulating them magnetically...something else is afoot :D.

Magneto is still the most capable at fighting them among the past mutants. He can manipulate the environment and use projectile weapons as well as flight.

And just because they are made of plastic doesn't mean they aren't durable. I don't see how Wolverine's claws will hold up against a squad of Sentinels.

Yeah we will probably still see him do a lot of damage to the Sentinels.

This is just a theory, but wouldn't the dark future cease to exist (or rather not happen), if the public would be against the Sentinels? I think they are trying to show the world how dangerous the Sentinels really are.

I loved Wolverine in the final trailer. My favorite part was him calling Mystique a "cold-hearted B****." Seeing Jackman and Lawrence interact (God I hope that they do) could be so much fun. I also loved Wolverine telling Beast that they'll become friends in the future only to then punch him in the face.

There are some theories that he isn't manipulating them at all. He's simply among them.

Cosplay image of someone as Wolverine in the past.

A pretty good attempt

Cant seem to see the first picture, not sure if its just me but the second one works fine.

Not a bad effort, takes a bit longer to get that "costume" than some other ones.

The only thing is his bone claws look like bread rolls to me, making me hungry ;-)
