Days of Future Past Hugh Jackman IS The Wolverine Thread - Part 1

It was nice to see Wolverine really be a guide for Charles and how he really looked to him like a father figure and to see that the loner had found a real family with The X-Men that he's determined to bring them back.

I did not like the veins

But the butt scene was nice lol. But I think this is the 2nd time his butt was shown. The first one is Kate/Leopold I think.
Unfortunately, no butt scene in Kate & Leopold. There was one in an Australian movie/TV series he did called "Halifax" but other than Wolverine, not in any other movie unfortunately LOL (danoyse will confirm!). There was an underwear scene in Someone Like You.

And if anyone's upset about the Hugh fans who turned up just to see his butt shot, just enjoy the added laughs you get watching them trying to decipher that end credits scene. :lmao:

Decent film though this was not a Wolverine story at all. The film was dominated by Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender.

Physically Hugh Jackman was on point, again topping the physique in the last film (The Wolverine) and showing bodybuilder level muscle definition and vascularity. The man honestly looked like he did not have an ounce of fat on his body. But he wasn't given many action scenes to show his physicality. Just a couple of small scuffles here and there.

Emotionally he had no arc at all which surprised me. The way the film is structured, Jackman's role is limited to bringing Charles around and then he takes a back seat as the 3 First Class trio work out the plot amongst them. In the two biggest key climatic scenes in the film - the two assassination attempts basically, he was incapacitated in both and did not play a role in either.

Jackman is so good as Wolverine, I wish he was more involved in the main plot, he seemed to me to be on the sidelines this time.

Anyone think we'll see Mystique and Logan as allies in XMen Apocalypse? Maybe Mystique has taken a liking on Logan the way Mystique did on X2?

I got the impression they were about to

retcon Origins, and make it so Wolverine gets his adamantium from Apocalypse, since it appears he won't be meeting up with Stryker.

Apocalypse is the one who gave him the adamantium back after Magneto ripped it out in the comics, after all (as well as turning him into one of his horsemen.

As far as Mytique, I'm not sure where she'll end up. It's a whole new future for her, too.

Hugh's said he doesn't think he'll have as big of a role in Apocalypse as he did in DOFP, but if they go with what's in spoiler tag, I'll be psyched.

Is it just me or does Hugh just get better and better and better as Wolverine in each installment he does?

I loved the whole 'student becoming the teacher' angle of the story. It made the importance of all of Xavier's work that much more poignant.

That moment at the end when he realizes they've caught up in the future is one of my favorite moments in the film.

My thinking Is they may lift from the twelve storyline for their version of
Age of Apocalypse of Apocalypse giving him adamanturm and him being brainwashed servent-death.And part of plot Is Xavier trying to free him from
Apocalypse
based on mystiqe as sryker finding him and Simon Kinberg's comments of aocalypse as charismatic leader

That's pure speculation on my part but i can see them going that direction.

Anybody know what shades Hugh was wearing in the 70's part of the film? Anyway to find out?

I'd imagine Wolverine will get his Adamantium claws in X-men: Apocalypse.

So in the reset Timeline Does Future Wolverine have his adamantium claws?

I was shocked by how ripped he was in this movie. He's always been big(aside from X1), but he was just jacked in that one scene. It looked like he just got done injecting steroids into every vein of his body, while he just got done bench pressing a school bus.

He was jacked in The Wolverine as well. He's gotten bigger and bigger as these movies have gone along. As for his role in X-Men: Apocalypse, I think that
he and Mystique will end up being two of Apocalypse's Horsemen.

He was at his biggest in Origins. But in The Wolverine and this film he definitely had less fat. He was shredded to ****.

It's possible.

Increased vascularity does often increase the perception of size but he looked better in both The Wolverine and DOFP.

It was actually pretty mind-blowing re-watching the first x-men and seeing how normal hugh actually looked physique wise. He looked less mutant and more guy who hits the gym once and a while.

By X2 though he was pretty on-point physique wise for Wolverine.

See that's the thing i don't understand about the time line.

This movie indicated that Stryker has yet to meet Wolverine; he didn't seem to recognize him at Mystique first assassination attempt of Trask. Yet in 'Origins' Stryker recruits both Logan and Victor during the vietnam war and that seems to have already happened before the events of this movie.

Happened 2 years after DOFP. More alarming is Strykers rapid ageing:woot:

That too..:D

But during the senate hearing Trask implied that the Vietnam War was over.

And how come Wolverine cannot die via drowning?

The War might have been over but they were still in prison perhaps for two years.

Comics have some written that Logan can breath through his skin when drowned, only head removal kills Logan.

Hugh is awesome in this role. I noticed when he has his first encounter with the goons when he has just gone back in time his face is shocked to see the bone claws come out. I thought that was great, really cool to see him so invested in the role he does something that subtle. Adds a lot IMO.

I would love to see Wolverine as one of Apocalypses horsemen in the next one and have Apoc give him the adamantium.
