when James McAvoy himself says Jackman has a big role.... well, its because he has it, lol.

yeah i get that, and thats what makes the fact he is a busy man quite abit better

so far we seen more of jen as mystique then we have jackman as wolverine on set, now that can only be a good sign screentime wise for other characters, we don't want another X3

I pray he's not the lead. I pray he's not the ONLY time traveler or they mind-swap him. If he has a big role I hope everyone else does too. I hope James means he has a big role compared to FC. Not because I don't love him as Logan, but because c'mon he's not the damn main character! And he just had his movie where he was the main character. Someone needs to q&a with Bryan Singer or Hugh Jackman and ask if he will have the same type role as X1-3

oh, you can be sure that I DONT want another X3, lol.

I hope greatmind point is the case, Hugh has a bigger role compared to FC cast, because Hugh appears on the future too, but not because Hugh scenes are much more than the FC on the 70's.

If there are three characters that need to be the leads on the 70's are Xavier, Magneto and Bolivar Trask, the main villain. The rest should be supporting, with good scenes here and there, including Mystique, Wolverine and Beast.

But no way Wolverine should have a bigger role than the rest on the 70's, it doesnt make any sense. He isnt the director of the school, or the leader of the 70's team, or the big villain, so there's no solid reason to put him on the lead there.

I hope he gets reintroduced in the middle of the 70's scenes, or at least a few scenes after first Xavier, Beast, Magneto and co. scenes.

I hope he's in the future and gets killed by a Sentinel. Then we're reintroduced to him in the 70s.

that would be a satisfying momment for the Wolverine haters, to see him get killed by a sentinel, lol.

even if he appears again some minutes later on the 70s, at least his death is a pleassing momment, and not only for his haters, but as a nod to the comic.

i can see it now, in the future the Xmen are fighting sentinels each being killed off screaming for help from wolverine whose for some reason owning the sentinels, he then realises the only way to save them is to travel back in time so he travels back to the 70s and gets help from young Xaviers to find.. whatever it is wolverine is looking for and then young Xavier says he can't go alone and logan is all nah i'm good and leaves and things happen, he meets magneto for abit and saves the day and travels back to future where the Xmen are like thank you wolverine and jean is back but cyclops isn't having died in the new timeline also and logan and jean share a look of sexual tension from the distance then end credits with the end credit scene being apocalypse looking at logan on a monitor and looking worried

i'm just joking around if anyone hasn't guessed by now =P

Hugh Jackman hosted the annual Walmart shareholders meeting today - he started the show singing Oh What A Beautiful Morning from Oklahoma! (changing the words to suit the audience) and then started schmoozing - at about 4:00 min. in he mentions DOFP.

I do hope Wolverine bites the dust in the film.

He is one of my favorite characters, but, his death is one of the best parts of the comic.

future wolverines death would be impactful for many reasons, not sure if singer would do it though, even temporarily

it would be good to actually think Wow so wolverine can be killed? :o

Then the rest of the returning cast needs to die as well or the film would not be doing Wolverine or the comic justice. The comic made a point of making Wolverine the one of the last surviving X-Men. The iconic cover clearly illustrates that he was the only X-Man to not be Slain or Apprehended.

With that being said, if Wolverine is not killed off in the beginning of the movie then it only makes sense that he would be the time traveler. In the comic Kitty was chosen to mind swap with her younger self because she has just recently joined the X-Men and not yet been trained to guard herself against telepathic attacks.

Since this idea was never introduced in the films it would not exclude Wolverine from being the time traveler.

Bryan was also influenced by the 90's animated series which in their adaption Wolverine was supposed to physically travel to the past. At the last minute he changed places with Bishop because Bishop and Forge decided Wolverine was too old.

In the movie verse Wolverine ages much more slowly than depicted in the original comic or in the animated series so his age would not exclude him from being a candidate for time travel either.

Wolverine Is almost certinly the time traveler. It could be similar to comic with him In Kitty role and Xavier In rachel role. The rest In future may be killed off.

They could have a Back to the future style ending with Wolverine returning to future to find things much better. No sentinles.Cyclops alive as well as others who were previously killed.
He's only one who has memory of future with Sentinles.

People shouldn't be surprised if Wolverine gets a big role in the movie. He's the most popular character when it to the general audience and he has two solo movies under his belt. They are not gonna downgrade him into a supporting role.

This. Money talks.

I'm not surprised, just disappointed.

I get that he is the breakout star of the X-Men,but give me a break he has his own 2 solo movies he does not need the most screentime then the others because of this. It would be cool for him to have some standout moments but if its anything like X3 then ill be in the minority and say that I wont like the movie. Because movieverse frankly made me sick of Wolverine, there is plenty of other characters to flesh out,not just Wolverine because Jackman is a star.

Its bad judgement to say oh woverine is the favorite character so lets give him the bigger role because he can't be off screen for longer then 5 min incase people say screw this i came here to see wolverine i'm gone *walks out*

He can still get something cool to do, something memorable and still get people to go and see the film to see him do this cool thing, FC has shown that if there is a good story and characters then there is a partential growing audience to see more then just wolverine

Now before psylockolussus quotes this saying blah blah wolverine blah blah OT Cast blah blah Low box office blah blah, i'm not trying to start any back and forth argument and it would be better if no one else did either

I totally agree with your comment.

People Love the X-MEN not just Wolverine.

Storm has many fans, Cyclops has many fans, Rogue has many fans, Nightcrawler has many fans, Gambit has soo many fans, Kitty has fans... everyone has fans.

Thats why all these x-men need a bit more attention, respect and better treatment.

But if they keep putting Logan as the huge lead, the franchise wont be up there where it belongs. On the biggest superhero movies of the whole history.

Outside of this board, many fans are already tired and frustrated with this franchise, so there is a serious need to improve ALL these characters. And thats what Fox, Singer and producers have to learn and change.

I think Singer will provide said attention. I doubt we will end up with another X3.

Im sure Singer will do a good job with characters like Kitty and Colossus this time, for example.

But I cant help but have some worries about Wolverine's screentime.

Hopefully you're right. I really hope there is a better balance than in X3.

I need Storm, Rogue, Kitty and Iceman all having more or less the same screentime. and Wolverine in any case just a little bit more than them, but not a HUGE difference.

Lets hope Singer delivers

If I'm not wrong, it was said all characters were going to have their moment to shine. I'm not worried about the screentime because I have the feeling we won't have again a Cyclops in X2 or a Rogue in Last Stand. I think writers, producers and director are wise enough to know the fans have waited too much time to watch again the OT cast, so after Last Stand I think they won't dare to mess this with more diva demands for more screen time.

My only worry of this kind lies in the 70's

yeah, Im not worried about the future.

Its the 70's what can make the difference, specially with so few characters and Wolverine being there too.

There's still a good chance at this that the picture of Wolverine with Beast was only the 1970's Wolverine, so it's still a bit early to say that he's the time traveler or not. It's certainly a big possibility though.
