Hopefully the success of The Wolverine will help DOFP!
Sadly Wolverine is only tracking at $60 Mil opening weekend and $150 Mil total. This needs to get phenomenal reviews and great WOM.
How are they calculating that when the movie is not even out yet?
It's just projections and tracking. Surely you've been to websites like boxofficemojo.com and boxofficeguru.com guided by supposed box office experts who project how an upcoming movie will do.
Well boxoffice.com does a long range forecast and of course they update their guesses the closer it comes to the release of a movie. My bad, The Wolverine is now at $65 Mil Opening weeked and $160 Mil Total. It's trending up
Thats for The Wolverine not DOFP. And we already have seen the trailers.
People do this a lot.
Which is a very good prediction!
Anything better than FC numbers is already a win for me!
I kinda find it hard to take projections seriously. I only pay attention to numbers when the movie is actually out.
Hugh had Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts and their kids over at his place for lunch today.
Wolvie inviting Sabretooth for lunch?
Also; dem arms...
So he filmed for a good 2-3 days last week.
Hugh and Liev have been friends for a long time, ever since they filmed "Kate & Leopold" (directed by James Mangold) in 2001.
Hugh is promoting "The Wolverine" in Korea on July 14 so presumably he's making some Asia rounds (I'm sure Japan is in that schedule) before he will hit San Diego for Comic Con. Besides DoFP, I wonder if anything from "The Wolverine" will be shown.

As of 1am, the mix is complete. FInished. The color is timed. Done. Titles. Check. 3D will take one more week. Sigh. Gonna lie down.
I think is going to be the more other way around. DOFP buzz is going to help improve The Wolverine box office.
But if The Wolverine turns out being a good movie... it could be good for DOFP.
A Liev cameo in DOFP would be quite awesome.
Yes!!! He was my favorite Sabretooth.
When I saw Man of Steel last weekend, they showed a preview for Liev's new TV show before the movie. The guy next to me was telling his kids, "Yeah, that's Wolverine's brother..."
Hmmm I don't a cameo is needed except if it will tie to X1 Sabretooth.
Hugh is starting to gear up for The Wolverine promotion - the U.K. premiere is July 16 and Australia is July 24. Meanwhile, Hugh and Jennifer have made the Forbes Most Powerful Celebrities list - he's at #11, the first actor on the list:
I was thinking maybe in the 70s...
Good for Hugh. I would've thought RDJ would be higher than him though (?)
Anyways, where's The Wolverine TV Commercials? This is getting ridiculous!
Here's the whole list, I think more factors are involved other than just "pay" - Downey is #20.
Commercials, don't worry, we'll probably be bombarded with them the closer it gets to release.
Here's an explanation on how the list is created:
They were airing during the NBA playoffs. Should be more on the way.
Anyone who hasn't been following The Wolverine can head over to that board for the full recaps and interviews, but here are some excerpts from the footage that was recently screened:
From Latino Review:
Great for Hugh Jackman for making it to Forbes Top 100!
I feel like I wrote this
Thanks for all the info danoyse and narrows
I actually really liked Iron Man 3, loathed Man of Steel. I think The Wolverine will surprise the naysayers. These early glimpses seem to prove this.
