SPIDEY!!!!!!! *sheds a tear*

FREE SPIDEY!

How come before Spiderman 3, the rami/tobey/sony marriage was a wet dream for fanboys, and after only one lame movie everyone has turned there back on the modern day classics that are SM1 and SM2?
Spiderman 3 was a let down for me, as was X-men 3, but the first two films in each series are solid enough to keep the series going in my opinion.
A Ghost Rider reboot/sequel is less than likley, mediocre character with limited fan base, it was suprising enough that he gets movie at all, then that movie was a dissapointment SO it seems doubtul that Marvel will take a chance on him again.

Marvel movies in DRASTIC need of a reboot are F4 and Daredevil...

Fantastic Four seriously needs a restart. I really hope we get one, once Marvel gets their rights back.

No lame organic metal Doom. I want a Doom that has armor that rivals Iron Man's. With technology that makes even Stark Enterprises looks like childs play.

As for the FF, I'd probably keep everyone except Alba. We need a strong leading female, with motherly vibe that actually fits the part and doesn't look like she jumped out of the Movie White Chicks. Thing needs to be CGI and I want to actually see him brawl and not have the fight take place in a garbage truck.

Amen to all of that. I would re-cast Reed as well, though, Ioan's American accent always sounded forced to me.

don't get me wrong, I think Spidey 1 and 2 are fantastic spidey films. Worthy of the name. I just think if Marvel could get their hands on it, we'd likely see something even better.

agrees.. the thing that made spidey 1 and 2 classics wasn't the directing nor the acting imo.. it was the stories. I think most of us are sick of snaggle tooth'd mj, a whiney still a clutz parker who makes horrible facial expressions, and the slap stick brigade of raimi

Spider-Man needed better actor's for Harry, Peter and MJ. Also, SM3 was crap.... so why did Marvel renew the contract for THREE more spidey films? I dunno... they must be smokin' something strong.

did they technically renew? i was pretty sure there contract was like everyone elses (do a movie/sequel within 5 years and u keep the rights) and james was one of the only good casting choices *yawn*

Man, I wish Sony did not have the rights to Spidey.

A Marvel studios Spidey film that actually resembled the comic would prob be the single coolest thing to ever hit Earth.

Yup Franco was good, rest of the cast was whack, save for Dafoe.

well i think Aunt may, Jonah, betty, uncle ben, ock, captain stacy, sandman (casting wise, not story wise), were all fine. Gwen was alright too though she could have had better writing and story

IMO, I thought the entire Spider-Man cast was pretty solid. But the two main characters I was supposed to care about, Pete and MJ, were pretty much meh.

thats pretty much how i feel.. MJ, Peter and Eddie were probably the worst choices... don't get me wrong, i loved toby in the first.. but he was still that weak highschooler emotionally in spidey 2 and 3.. that and peter's body or face something about it changed.. he looked much more like peter in the first film and Kirsten i think only did a decent job of MJ in Spidey 3... i thought she looked much more like MJ and acted very much like the modern MJ of the comics.

Fantastic Four:

The casting wasn't too bad (except for Jessica Alba, of course,) but the script characterizations were laughable. Next time, let's tone down Johnny and put some actual brains into Victor. If we are going to give him (Victor) superpowers, let's use the Ultimate version of his origin.

Spider-Man:

Next time Gwen Stacy gets in at the first movie or not at all, Venom get a full movie or not at all, and the director tries to tell the story the movies need and not the one the suits ram down his/her throats.

Daredevil: Keep the legal subplot(s). This is just as much about Matt as it is about hornhead.

X-men: Remind the cast about the meaning of "Ensemble Movie." Don't contradict the character development of the first two movies and then call that "Further Development." Don't try to juggle too many plot points so that none of them reach full payoff. Never cop out the final ending like X-men 3.

Ghost Rider: If you are going to do a movie with Nicolas Cage, take full advantage of his improvisational skills. Treat the property like a horror one, not a superhero one.

Man-Thing: Tell the writer and the director to play it straight. And give it a decent effects budget.

Personally I think Spidey1 and 2 suck terribly.
Those films should be called Spider-Wuss and Spider-Wuss2 instead.

Maguire is just too wussy, and Spidey does not even crack any lame jokes like he does in the comics, Dunst is too ugly too be MJ, Robbie Robinson is too fat, the Goblin looks like a power ranger, Gwen was a horrid ginger, and the films are all imbued with a horrid syrupy corniness that runs through the core of each installment. The deviations in characters origins and how event's played out in the comic are also really lame.

Heck, Elfman's score was totally wrong and did not fit who Spidey is.
Spider-Man is all razmatazz and high energy, it should have been original guitar based rock & swing fused, not stupid operatic Batman music, ugh, which made the scores sound like every single other Superhero score out there. The score should have been a representation of Spidey's personality, think the 60's theme tune!

Since when was it a story all about a girl?, Raimi got it wrong that is NOT what Spidey is all about.
It's about a kid who gets powers vs the world.

No way man, Gwen was played by a horrid ginger. Terrible casting.
Plus her part in SM3 was pretty insignificant, so basically she was nothing like Gwen.

Like MJ, Gwen is supposed to be a stunning beauty.
Elisha Cuthbert would have been a good choice.

elisha cuthbert would upstage kirsten in the looks department though. MJ is suppose to be a model, not gwen.

If we got an FF restart, I wouldn't mind them to be a tad older. And you'll see why in my casting choices

Reed Richards: Bruce Greenwood

Sue Storm: Charlize Theron

Ben Grimm: John C. Reily

Johnny Storm: I don't really have a problem with Chris Evans actually.

Marvel Studios should make a :doom: movie, then have him as a major player in subsequent movies.

Or they could relaunch Howard the Duck...

Who cares about HtD?

James Franco is actually quite awesome...
