I just picked this up and read it. Wow.

Peter David is a fantastic writer.... he really nailed this.

It shows the tragedy that the hulk and Banner's existance truly is, and it also shows that, although Hulk is the strongest one there is, the depth of his lonliness, and that he fears death.

The last few pages are some of the most memorable things I have ever read.

Just brilliant. I'm glad they reprinted this otherwise I might not have ever gotten to read it.

I think Hulk only fears death if he turns back to Banner.

I may have read it wrong, but I got the impression that's why hulk doesn't want to die....because he was afraid. I thought that his talk of ''letting them win'' if he dies was just bravado.... that's just my interpretation though.

yup, easily the single greatest Hulk story. It's too bad the other "The End"s all missed the mark so badly that this one hit dead on

the punisher the end was just as good imo.

nah, I thought it was too much about pushing Ennis' political feelings and not so much about getting to the very heart of the Punisher the way H:TE did. It is still probably the second best The End, and it did establish something very dark about the Punisher: even if you're the last person alive on the planet, if you're guilty, he's coming for you

I think what it established (if you're guilty you're dead, as you said) is very much the heart of the punisher. Which is why I put it on a par with the h:te

but beyond that, it offered nothing, I felt. Born was a MUCH greater look into what makes Frank Castle tick.

or did you ever read "Do not fall in New York City"?

Don't really think it needed to offer anything more to be honest, it was a perfect synthesis of ennis's punisher work.

Yeah got all of ennis's punisher work, do not fall was great also.

I think a lot of comics and movies these days are just vehicals for political viewpoints, so that applies to a lot of things. For example I thought Land of The Dead's political viewpoint was laughably naieve, but I still enjoyed it as a zombie movie. You just have to try and see past it, but if you cant, I understand that too.I personally enjoyed Punisher the end. I also am really enjoying X Men The End, but still waiting to read book 3 when it hits tpb. I really like the whole idea of the end. Is that all their was? Punisher, Hulk and X Men?

there was Wolverine, but it sucked

This is definately one of the best Hulk stories of all time. I loved it.

Now is a great time to be a Hulk fan for sure. Hopefully they reprint Future: Imperfect soon also.

If you count The Last Avengers Story as the prototype for the "The End" format like I do, that's two. I also thought Punisher: The End was good. Ultra-liberal, sure, but it worked.
