Human Target

See, I was thinking the opposite. Layla gives the team a female presence without taking away Chance's weekly Captain Kirk-style flirtations with the guest females.

We need to get back to the Kirk style on TV. I remember when James Bond went down to one or two chicks per movie because of AIDS, but c'mon man, we've all figured out how to use condoms by now.

Bond's probably a majority share holder. ;)

I feel the same way! First thing in the morning I search for new info. When I come on to the Hype and I see this thread has a new post I get excited that it might be news of renewal. Fox needs to just tell us, but I bet they are going to make us suffer and wait until the 17th when the announce their upfronts. :csad:

This article doesn't sound too promising I'm affraid.

Yikes — the suits at Fox have just been cast in their own remake of Sophie’s Choice! The network likely has room for only one underperforming drama on its fall schedule, insiders tell me, and that leaves Lie to Me and Human Target competing for the slot! Who’ll get it? Let’s look at the pros and cons of each option…
Both bubble shows are ratings underachievers. However, with all its special effects, Target is presumably costlier to make. And its finale last month sunk its numbers to a new series low: 1.9 in the 18-49 demo. And it’s produced by outside studio Warner Bros., whereas Lie to Me is produced in-house (by 20th Century).
Further, Lie to Me is in its second season and therefore more established than frosh Target. It also has another chance to impress execs with some Nielsen muscle when it returns from its hiatus on June 7 and begins airing its remaining episodes.
Working against Lie to Me, though, is the fact that it recently lost its showrunner, Shawn Ryan. And, given that his list of achievements includes The Unit and The Shield, that’s a pretty big “ouch.”
Until D-Day — May 17, when Fox unveils its fall sked to advertisers at the upfronts

Are you freaking kidding me? How on earth is Human Target doing bad?? HOW??? It's literally the best action series on tv.

Damn, damn damn. I like both of those shows. I guess, if I had to pick...it would be Human Target. They're both fun in very different ways (and they both have Lennie James guest star ;)). But at least Lie to Me has had a second season.

But why doesn't Fox produce both? Do 13 episodes of each and air one during the fall, the other during the spring.

Or...here's an absolutely crazy idea that just hit me while typing this and I haven't thought through, but what if they paired to two shows up and alternated their airings. So one week is HT, the next is LtM. The novelty itself would generate some interest. :p

I like both as well, and I'd also pick Human Target. Lie to Me had 2 seasons already. HT has barely even begun and it feels like it has a lot more potential.

Sorry Lie To Me. Mark Valley > you. Please renew Target!

I can't imagine Human Target costing that much more than Lie To Me. I'd assume Roth's paycheck is might hefty, probably moreso than the entire HT cast combined.

And for all the diverse dramas FOX boasts, how valuable is Lie To Me when House pretty much fills the void. A team of individuals led by a brilliant, yet smarmy and sarcastic jerk to solve mysteries. And Bones covers Lie To Me's police procedural-like component. Human Target is easily the more unique of the two, in terms of what it offers viewers, compared to everything else on their schedule. And shouldn't the cancellation of 24 also be a factor. That's another hefty paycheck they don't have to sign over to Kieffer Sutherland, and no more location shooting.

Now that i think about it, is there really any reason they can't renew both shows?

Excellent. I'm glad they didn't end up choosing one over the other. Like I said, I like both Lie to Me and Human Target.

If Ausiello is yanking my chain here, I am going to send him a very angry and nasty e-mail :D .

I really want to believe it, but the article does only say it's THIS CLOSE. I mean I want to believe it, but until it's official I won't truly believe it I think.

What's that about Dark Lord? Please don't play with us right now. The internet is serious business and we need to know the fate of our show!

LOL. I don't know anything. I wish I did. I'm just excited that we're getting a second season. At least it looks that way. I guess we'll find out soon. I really don't want this show to end...
