Human Target

I really believe Fox Exec's feed off of spite from disenchanted fan's of their shows. At this point, the KNOW what a Friday slot means for their action based shows.

And most of the times I think the shows first season is either on a Monday or Tuesday and then willingly move it to Friday.

Surprised they didn't move Fringe to Friday, but just to the ever crowded Thursday instead.

I mean you could make a whole network off shows Fox has axed in the last 10 years or more.

Peter Griffin: Everybody, I got bad news. We've been canceled.
Lois Griffin: Oh, no, Peter, how could they do that?
Peter Griffin: Well, unfortunately, Lois, there's just no more room on the schedule. We've just got to accept the fact that Fox has to make room for terrific shows like "Dark Angel," "Titus," "Undeclared," "Action," "That 80's Show," "Wonderfalls," "Fastlane," "Andy Richter Controls the Universe," "Skin," "Girls Club," "Cracking Up," "The Pits," "Firefly," "Get Real," "Freaky Links," "Wanda at Large," "Costello," "The Lone Gunmen," "A Minute With Stan Hooper," "Normal, Ohio," "Pasadena," "Harsh Realm," "Keen Eddie," "The Street," "American Embassy," "Cedric the Entertainer," "The Tick," "Louie," and "Greg the Bunny."
Lois Griffin: Is there no hope?
Peter Griffin: Well, I suppose if all those shows go down the tubes, we might have a shot.

Thats exactly what I was thinking of when I said that. and the thing is I liked and watched about half those shows listed.

I'm glad it's getting a 2nd season. I really like what they've done with this character. IMO it's one of the better shows on network TV. :yay:

Something else that's got me worried, now that I took a closer look at the schedule. They said HT was only getting another 13 episodes. But, they have it listed for both 2010 and 2011.

The only way that's going to happen is if they're keeping the time slot assigned to HT in case they want to order more episodes (unlikely), or they're planning on showing half the season, taking a huge break, and then showing the other half (essentially making sure the show is dead).

October's Baseball month. There's not a lot of time for the show to prove it deserves a back-nine. The first two eps of the season are gonna be sink-or-swim. FOX will p***y-foot for a while, and just before they air the last two of the thirteen eps, they'll officially pull the plug. That's how I see it playing out, 'cause Fox is just that woefully predictable when it moves a show with a cult following to Fridays for no real reason.

Man this sucks. I mean I'm so happy and psyched we are getting a second season. And then this happens. The death slot. Pretty much any show on a regular network can't succeed on Friday. Despite the show actually building a solid basepoint audience on Wednesdays. Seriously, what the frack. This ticks me off.

Here's what I'm doing though. I'm counting my blessings we are getting a second season and I hope we get all 13 episodes. Beyond that, whatever, I'm just glad the show is continuing up to this point.

At SDCC if I meet the creators, this WILL be a point of discussion.

If I were the creators I'd see about possibly talking to USA and see if they can arrange a show rescue if this doesn't work out.

TNT rescued Southland. If Fox destroys Human Target, Human Target would deserve a show-rescue more than freaking Southland aka shield wannabe.

In the words of Evel Knieval, do you know who the hell I am?

I never miss SDCC. I ran into Mark Valley and Jackie Earle Haley (we stayed at the same hotel) multiple times last year. So I'm hoping I run into Steinberg and/or Miller so we can talk about the new timeslot of death.

Fox needs to realize, Mark Valley is getting a divorce and he needs to pay for it! GIVE MARK VALLEY HIS BREAD!

Yeah, I think I remember you mentioning it before. This is going to be my second time. And I luckily got an awesome hotel this year. :D

Last year I had the HT panel/pilot as a third option in case other things didn't pan out. It really didn't interest me all that much.

This year, it's going towards the top of my list.

He's already getting divorced from the main chick on fringe?

Dang, the Friday death slot. I really like the show, hopefully the writers will tie up the story and give it a good ending knowing what they're going up against this fall.

I'm saddened things didn't work out. Torv is hot. And Mark Valley is a real man's man.

So just to bring it up, so we are getting a second season, but it's getting essentially the TV death slot.

Now the thing is, a show like SGU actually does good numbers on Friday on a CABLE network like SyFy. So what's the possibility if things don't work out could a cable network pick up Human Target? What does it take for a show to get cable-rescued?

First it has to look like it'll be a good thing for there network, and it helps if it's produced by the same parent company.

Southland works on TNT because of it being a cop show, and they have a lot of cop shows on the channel(Law and Order reruns), or cop style shows even(Angel). It looks like it also helps to be owned by Time Warner.

Human Target doesn't look like it'll fit on TNT. To lighthearted and enough drama imo. And it wouldn't work on Syfy, or USA since they already have a spy show with Burn Notice.

What about FX? They are a parent company of Fox right? Or are atleast affiliated with them.

HT isn't intense or gritty enough for fX.

It almost sort of fits into Syfy. It just doesn't have enough sci-fi elements in it. But it does have a few, and sort of looks (cinematography-wise) like a SyFy show.

Is there much of a syndication market anymore? Back in the day, so many shows that wouldn't fit on a network ran for seasons through syndication.

If it weren't for Burn Notice USA would be the ideal home for Human Target.

They probably wanted to avoid pissing off JJ Abrams.

Yeah, it would sort of be tough at this point for HT to find a home on cable.

Oh well, I'll milk this season for all it's worth. I'm happy they are at least making more and going to give us some resolution to the cliffhanger.

Oh well, now that it's in the death slot, we can at least start bracing ourselves early for the second season to be Human Target's last.

And yet American Idol and So you think you can dance will get how many frigging season. God i hate that type of crap shows and the people who watch.
