Of course, as long as it's a good villain....A good villain has great motives and a plan. What are DDINO's motives? Do you know?

Ive never read the script but it seems, his buisness falls apart due to the disaster of the space mission and at the same time the F4 become celebrities benefiting from it in a way,so he seeks revenge on them through his new powers

No, I don't think he's a good villain.

Hopefully Tim Story dropped this line.......

Yeah, that line sucks. Hopefully, they dropped it.

New Mutant told me that Doom says it differently "something along the lines of looks like we are both Doctors now or something" like that. He doesn't quite remember but no, that awful line doesn't exist.

Here's the truth about novelizations: they are just like the movie--an adaptation of the script.

That said, the novelization fleshes Doom out much differently than the script I've read would suggest. And, ya know, that's the job of a novelist--to interpret it. But I know for a fact a lot of what is in Peter's novel is NOT in the film--I've actually confirmed this. Now, I know a few of you have misgivings about Doom, but some of the prescreening reviews on his portrayal have been rather interesting...and I think it's ironic that AICN is not publishing any of these, which outweigh the negative by far.

For example, here are just three out of several from IMDB. I've highlighted in red the areas pertaining to the character. Notice that some of these are from diehards and others are casual.

Everything this comic fan could've dreamt for, 23 June 2005

Author: alistair_webcritic from United States

I've been a huge Fantastic Four fan ever since I was a kid – more so than all the other Marvel comics – so I had very, very high expectations and standards for this film. Let me just say (and I apologize for this cliché) Fantastic Four exceeded my expectations in every way when I managed to wrestle a seat for myself at a preview screening.

I won't delve into the plot of the movie – trust me, that's the one thing you DON'T want me to spoil for you – so let me first talk about the cast. At first, I must admit I was worried about the questionable casting of some questionable actors, but I have been all but reassured.

Ioan Gruffudd is a brilliant actor – he surely is going to have a huge career in Hollywood after this. He managed to bring the same quiet authority and dignity to the character of Reed Richards while showing the audience just why he's the FF's leader, something all the FF comic book fans are familiar with.

Julian McMahon most likely had the most expectation laid on his shoulders as the ultimate (and I mean ULTIMATE) Marvel villain, Dr Doom. Some of his background has been changed – Latveria is nowhere to be seen – but his 'new' background fits in very well with the overall storyline. As for McMahon's actual performance – astonishingly evil, and very well done. If you've seen Nip/Tuck or Charmed, you will know what I mean – only he's ten times the bad guy in this movie.

Chris Evans and Jessica Alba play siblings Johnny and Susan Storm. Their exchanges are very lighthearted and humorous, adding suitable heart to the film. Evans manages to pull of the hot-headedness (pun intended) of the Human Torch. Similarly, Alba proves she's more then just a pretty face with her convincing portrayal of the motherly Invisible Woman.

I leave my most praise for the FF actors for last – Michael Chiklis. Wow. What a guy! His portrayal of The Thing elicited the most emotional response from this reviewer. Just like in the comic books, the Thing is more than just a 'big orange rock guy'. He is a man battling his inner demons and his despair at being given the worst hand after the FF team is hit by cosmic radiation. Chiklis pulls this off wonderfully – I cannot describe my admiration for his performance! Also prepare yourself for some hilarious dialogue between Chiklis and Evans.

Finally, the special effects. Don't take my word for it, go see the movie yourself – but let me just say, YOUR JAW WILL DROP. You won't walk out of the theater saying 'I've seen it all before', that I can assure you.

Not a fantastic 4 fan so never read the books. But me and my GF caught a closed screening of it and I thought it was a solid movie. Better than I expected. Its a lot like the spiderman movies because of humor but serious at the same time. A lot of laughs and some sad parts also.

The movie begin with Reed, Sue, Johnny Storm, Ben and Doom going up into space to look for medical cures in a space cloud called the cosmic storm. The storm hits them and it gives them these strange powers. We seem them getting used to the new powers and using them to help regular people. They become celebrities in the public eye but there are many problems inside the team. Never seen superheroes fight like this but the Fantastic 4 bicker a lot. Ben and Johnny act like 5 yr olds and get into it bad at the x-games. Sue and Reed really love each other but reed is too distracted to pay her attention. And doctor doom turns them against each other and breaks the group up.

The actors all do a convincing job. My favourite was the wicked Julian Macmahon. Doom is one scary strange one who reminded me of the emperor in Sith but better looking. Some of his lines were weak but it did not come off cheesy because of the way he said them and acted. He's the villain but you admire him since he is suave and intimidating. Was also impressed with Alba. She has come a long way since dark angel. I liked her in Sin City but this movie showed she is more than a sex symbol. Some don't think shes a good actress but she did a very great job here. She and Iaon Gruffud are really good together.

9/10.....

The Fantastic Four is an excellent movie. It contains heartfelt pathos, and stunning action. Believe me, you have not seen action like this, before. The people in special effects need to be applauded. Caught it at an early screening, and Man! This one of the best comic-book movies of the year behind Batman and Sin City. And the "Dr. Doom" twist at the end was pure genius! The actors(and actresses) fit well into their parts. This is about as good Spider-Man and X-men rolled into one....

I understand how u guys feel about Movie doom not being faithful to the comics but it couldv'e been worse. At least Doom isn't protrayed as a whiny ***** like Vader in Episode 3 (I'm sorry if I offedn any star wars fans or anything it's just that I thought that idiot lucas could have protrayed Vader better). At least he was of the following:

1. He became evil not because he needed to help some stupid tramp with a big mouth and prevent her from dying, being easily (?) manipulated by an obviously creepy evil balding generic old fart, or whining that he thinks the Jedi is against him. He decided to be evil because he wanted to be evil and the fact that he is turning organic which really ticks him off and decides to kill people for it.

2. The person who plays doom does a hell of a job playing doom unlike the guy who played Anakin who didn't do that good of a job on Vader.

3. At least doom doesn't say a cliched NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
http://darthno.ytmnd.com/

So u should be lucky that Doom was protrayed better than other good villains that are not that well protrayed.

I don't. This would be a mediocre villain at most, and because he is in fact a bastardization instead of an original piece of crap, that makes him absolute filth.

DDINO is hardly even a step above Syndrome from "The Incredibles," and considering the crappy script, it really is no wonder that Avi Arad isn't impressed with the Pixar film. That's a big ol' bowl of sour grapes, that is.

Well, I'm not gonna argue Star Wars with you because you're obviously talking out of your ass when it comes to that, but movie Doom-or Klytus as i call him-is a complete ***** and a total loser.

Actually, Vader in Ep. III wasn't too bad. Not great, but I've seen worse.

Syndrome was actually closer to Doom than DINO is.

In the movie, the character basically says "I have no powers, but I'm going to take you down anyway cause I'm a million times smarter than you".

He had robots and other killer tech. **** at his disposal...plus he ruled his own island.

I have to say Vader is terrible in Episode 3.
I can't stand the way he "kills Padme".

He should have thrown her into the lava in a blind rage or something. (With the kids being born earlier, obviously.)

After Episode 3 Darth Vader isn't as cool as he used to be.
Anakin just whined too much (Much like I'm doing now).

The prequels: Downgrade.

Well it seems I pissed off a star wars fatass nerd because I was telling the truth about Vader. Get over it u star wars fanboy Movie Dr. Doom is way better potrayed than Vader is. Complete ***** and total loser!? (sarcasm) Yeah he is because it's not like we see him taking on 4 of them at the end of the movie or tried to take them out one by one  (sarcasm).

We may not get the real Dr. Doom like the ones in the comics but at least Movie doom comes close to it and is potrayed better then Vader's dumbass.

^Yeah, like you've seen FF to have a real opinion between the two...........what a joke. Vader's dumbass? He's only the BIGGEST villain in cinematic history............

P.S. - I'm not a Star Wars fan either, I thought ROTS was a letdown........and how much do you wanna bet DDINO says "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"?

i have seen enough trailers to know what he does and why he does it. Plus the comic adaptation too. The reason why he is biggest villian in cinematic is because he is a rip off of Dr. Doom. I forgot to mention that I was talking about the Episode 3 Vader since the way they potrayed him was piss-poor. I liked Vader too but the way lucas potrayed him was stupid and thus ruining the image of vader being the ultimate villian.

If he does at least say Noooo! it wouldn't come off as cheesy and stupid like Vader.

Trailers DO NOT equal the ENTIRE film. ANYBODY screaming "Noooooo" that also has a mask can be cheesy & stupid - get real............

Well you won't know how cheesy it will be until you see the film. It's a comic book movie for crying out loud. It's not going to be perfect. It's not going to please all the fanboys and you know what you'll have to live with it. People took time and a lot of effort to make the movie what it is. I'm sure that next weekend you'll be at least fine with it, but i'm tired of hearing how bad Doom is going to be. This conversation and debate has been going on since last year. All you're doing is repeating yourself.

Whether the nooo will be in there i don't know because the novelization is basically the rough script and was out when they were still doing voiceovers and reshoots.

That's why I used the key word "CAN" in my post.......I didn't say anything about it being cheesy, just the possibility of it. And I agree, look at the source material - it's going to be a little campy, which is fine...........

Syndrome was even pettier than DDINO was, but when it came to M.O., yes, he was definitely closer to Dr. Doom. It would have been nice to see the real Doom in an FF movie. I would want the whole "I did everything I did just to outshine Reed" crap completely eliminated from any script submitted, but when both characters have reached their respective power levels, I would have liked to have Doom say at some point that while Reed once considered them equals, Doom has proven that he is Reed's superior no matter what he does, including gain superpowers (the time to say this is when Doom uses his non-superhuman means to get Reed in a bad spot, of course, so it would make sense to gloat).
