I have to point out again that in Doom's first appearance in FF#5, he was wearing pants......
A lot of you weren't around at the time to see it but Jack Kirby took several tries before the character evolved into the look we all know today. So the movie is really tracking the same way Doom's look developed in the comics.
BTW, I scanned another picture in from that souvenier magazine and Movie Doom is looking pretty good here to me...it's from Jose Fernandez's original design and I don't think there is much variance in the final version.
Friend Herr Hogan,
Let's just focus on questioning the decisions made by Fox in regard to Doom's characterization and drop the feuding between posters. Quite honestly, I think everyone has done overtime in making their point and it is becoming rather redundant. Maybe it is because I have about 18 nieces and nephews of varying ages that I have babysat over the years that has endowed me with a bit more patience than you. You will learn in time if you have a family. Some of the fans of Julian McMahon just don't get the same consideration around here as the Jessica Alba or the hordes of Ioan fans who quite frankly just are following their fave's career and are just by chance getting interested in the FF. As someone who has recently become a fan of his and has been a Doom fan for a whole lot longer I don't feel quite as intimidated by all this back and forth but others might. They may look at this as a way of putting the blame on him for something that is way beyond his control. Let's cut them a little slack so they can get a little vicarious thrill out of their guy's first major film.
Enough lecturing from me.... Now let's have some fun insulting the suits instead.
