Cool detail or not, it shows signs of their homage to UFF's Doom; Just like mutation Doom pays homage to UFF Doom.

They are SHOES O9. SHOES--As in, covering up toes. Hell, I've wore something similar when I was in my friend's wedding but no one assumed I was coming down the aisle bobbing like a damn goat.

If they wanted him to have goat-feet they would've done it--it's not like they don't have the prosthetics and budget available.
