I Am Doom....discuss me [merged-2]

Actually Lightnin's use of fanboy implies that his definition of fanboy is the same as yours. He says 'some' Fanboys. By your definition, it is true that 'some' Fanboys view it as nothing short of a religion, and deviating from its source material is tantamount to blasphemy. He never said that all Fanboys thought like that, or even use 'fanboy' as an insult.

Once again, you're jumping to conclusions. You're getting sloppy, Herr.

I know. I am getting sloppy. :(

Too much stress and too little sleep lately. Gotta recharge, or lose my position as the Hype's "unofficial despot," as one hit-and-run plebeian coward was kind enough to call me recently.

You seem to be staying sharp, though. I'm downright proud.

And threatened.

>sigh<

Thank you Saph.

Whaa?

Um helloooooooo---I'm a fanboy myself Herr. So I'm hardly being "hypocritical" here and your response above frankly doesn't make an ounce of sense to me.

The statement I made is absolutely factual--that is the way some people feel when it comes to comic book movie adaptations. And they (or should I say "we") are termed fanboys. Tell me, what part of that statement is untrue? Hmmm???

And since when does the term "fanboy" carry a negative connotation in of itself? "Fans", "Fanatics", "Fanboys" Fanaddicts"--they all add to the same diehard sum--and there is nothing wrong with that. My statement to Kitty was made to show her that these films are more than just "movies" in some people's opinions, but rather artistic renderings of revered source material. Perhaps if studios adopted this attitude, we wouldn't have situations like the one we are facing with Doctor Doom. Smack me if I'm missing something here, but is this something you disagree with?

I'm not quite sure why you've felt the need to personalize it, or become touchy, but the statement was never intended as a slap in the face.

I'm taking the wool vest back.

It clearly belongs on someone else. This guy in this other Doom thread, perhaps, to go with his new wool coat. :o

Regretfully,

Herr Logan :wolverine

Aw, I'd bet you'd look just adorable in it. ;)

Well, now that we got that cleared up, I'm gonna go eat, go home and rest, then procrastinate until an ungodly hour before studying. Luckily, my exam tomorrow is going to be far easier and more intuitive for me (I'm pretty sure I just failed a statistics exam a little while ago... failed it but good!).

Again, sorry for my misinterpretation. It's gettin' so I can't trust anyone to stay consistent these days. My bad.

That vest even has sheep on it^^^^ Where the hell did you find that?
Here's my philosophy on fans..... Fans are not understandable. No one to date except for a few understand why I'm a fanatic about movies like Naked Lunch by David Cronenberg. So the first reaction is to say, well then, you shouldn't judge me for liking this movie's version of Doom here, Right? Wrong! Because your right to being a fan of movie Doom comes from the same right that makes me a fan of the conflicting classic Doom and these two types of fanaticism are going to cross paths as they have crossed paths. So be it.

You know what I actually agree w/ this....bottom line for me....I don't mind when people's opinions are different from mine, to me thats actually pretty cool...what I do mind and where many of us have a problem is when we are talked down too, and insulted because of our opinion...there lies the problem...everyone seems to think the problem is differing opinions...but for most of the so called "sheep" its not...its the degrading, insulting way we are viewed here on this board...(and not pointing a finger at you 09, I agree w/ your post)....but myself along w/ many others who are well-educated people...find it very insulting to be talked too, and about, in the manner that goes on here on this board, and is allowed to continue...and we are spoken to in this manner simply because we see the "glass as half-full, rather than half-empty" and choose to enjoy ourselves, and have fun on this forum...just because we see movie in a different light does not make us ignorant, it simply makes us different in our opinions....

So continue the difference of opinions, feel free too...but the other really needs to stop....or should stop maybe is the right way to say it....because as for me, I find nothing worth respecting in those posts......and thats sad because I have learned alot from opinions that were different from mine....I'd like to learn more....

Kel

And one thing I want to add, because I just saw Sar post on another thread and it reminded me...

Sar, Boom, IM, Dragon and some others and I have not really agreed on much of anything...LOL, but never once did I feel spoken down too, or degraded because of my opinion...for that they have my respect....and hopefully they can say the same about me...thats my truest hope....

So if those who view things from the "half-full glass" perspective are touted as "sheep" do those who view it from the opposite spectrum get to be labeled "goats"? ;)

:daredevilOK, warning: this just may sound a little f***ed up, so bear with me Kel.....
You're basically saying you want peace, right? Welcome to planet Earth, sweety. Believe it or not, half the things I've said that make me notorius for being a hard-a$$ (here, or in real life) came out of provocation (here even, really);maybe it started at an early age with cruel people in this cruel world, and now everyone who deals with me, has to to put up with this "bad seed" here, if you choose to look at it that way ;) , yet it doesn't need to be taken so seriously.......meh. Anyway, (here comes Mark, the villain) as over the top as this may sound..... ;), I'd like to challenge your positivity a little further....hehehe! You see, Albagirl ;) , what if something actually GOOD came out of all these so-called destructive things being said by such "ill-ravenous" members here. Wouldn't such an unfolding warrant the title, POSITIVE? :hyper:

That all depends on who the shepherd is. It's good to be a sheep for a good shepherd. It's bad to be a goat to a good shepherd.
It's good be a goat to a bad shepherd, and bad to be a sheep with a bad shepherd.

When you said, "other" I responded according to that. I can only read between the lines so far, Albafan.

- I Am Getting Sick And Tired Of All The Fighting In Here.

People Who Like The Way The Movie Is Going Have The Right To Say That Without Getting Attacked.

People Who Don't Like The Way The Movie Is Going Have The Right To Say That Without Getting Attacked.

No One....no One....has The Right To Attack, Call People Names, Belittle Them, Tell Them They Are Stupid, Tell Them They Are Unintelligent, Tell Them That They Are Not Fans Of The Fantastic Four....because Someone's Feelings On The Way The Movie Is Going Is Different From Theirs.

The Saying "i'm A Better Fan" By Both Sides Will Stop!!!

You People Are So Hotheaded...you Are Attacking People Even When They Agree With You.

If Everyone Does Not Stop The Attacks, Stop The Name Calling, Stop The Snide Rude Remarks.....then Everyone Will Suffer The Consequences.

They're good people. Better people than I, that's for sure.

And I'm sure they do respect you, just like I do.

I can accept that arrangement. I just have one caveat: if you're going to call me a goat, please use appropriate adjectives preceding it.
Some examples: "You're a crotchety, cantankerous, ornery goat," and in the spirit of Stan Lee-- "... grievous, galling, grouchy, gloomy goat."

I'm gonna go look for some tasty cans to chew on. Maybe some empty, metallic food containers as well. :)

In case you haven't known that by now.

As Kel? or Albafan?....because contrary to popular belief one does take precedence over the other....

That's a familiar elipsis. That's fine. I don't expect anyone here to take me seriously, especially if I say something complimentary.
