In the UFF, Doom was already in the Baxter Building.

Maybe Doom's blog is how he got noticed since he's from a small country in another part of the world and Reed got noticed for something else.

He's probably involved with the hardware and/or software in the experiment and that's why he's going.

Exactly. In this, he is a young man and a techie. It's perfectly well within his profile to have a blog. BUT if he were a blogger only who wrote about gossip, memes, etc. the I would understand if people would crap on this project. Again, he is a programmer with a blog. Not really difficult to understand, is it?

I think most would be extremely excited for the sequel, while some would be upset that we didn't get that already in place at the start of those movie.

Personally I'd rather start a story at Chapter 1 then follow on through ChPter 2 & 3 ect...

That's what this movie is it's Chapter 1 not the whole book

That still could happen. As far we know, this incarnation of Doom is still in line with the UFF version, where he starts at Baxter with Reed and they become rivals. Doom meddles witht the telepoter's programming causing the accident.

Doom's Eastern European roots have been emphasized by both Kebell and Trank. And with rumors flying around that Teller is in Romania shooting extra scenes, it's not difficult to imagine that we might eventually see the version of Doom we are all more familiar with.

Sorry I don't buy it...such pathetic weak beginnings for Doom...Victor Von Doom (NOT DOMASHEV...STILL ONE OF MANY MANY DUMB CHANGES FOR THE SAKE OF CHANGE) should be one of the few characters whose background translates beautifully to the big screen...humble beginnings...sorcery, science....all mixed in...an iron will of epic size...a hate of Richards and his insufferable clan...Fox promised this mess last time...oh we had to give Doom a corporate image as to get him to his place as "Doom" and that still didn't work out...sorry Doom will never truly be done justice until Marvel gets him home...PERIOD!

Here's what I think will happen with Doom.

Victor Domaschev is a scientist who finds about Reed Richards government funded teleportation experiment when he talks with Reed on his blog. He questions if Reed's experiment will actually work. Reed invites him to come to the presentation to see that it will work. Victor volunteers to join the other 5 scientists testing the teleportation device and he goes through training with the other 5. Him and Reed develop a rivalry. Still thinking the device will not work, Victor makes his own adjustments to the device. Once the device is tested, they are blasted through the N-Zone, changing their molecular structure and giving them powers. Victor does not make it out however. He resurfaces several days later, horribly scarred, with parts of his body transformed into metal. He warns Reed about "the truth" and recruits the fifth scientist, Harvey Elder, who is now transformed into the Mole Man. He uses his powers to take over his homeland of Latveria and plots to destroy Reed.

I think that'll be the case, and they're setting up true Doom for the sequel, with this being something of an origin with the N-Zone being the bigger conflict.

(There's also the possibility he'll be the villain for the x-men/f4 crossover, but I doubt it.)

You can see hes's wearing the same clothes when Reed is talking to him in hospital or med bay that were in the leaked pics. Perhaps his tattered clothing is his environmental suit that has melted somewhat.
Not sure about the mask but could it perhaps be the faceplate on the helmet seared into his skin? The faceplate of the helmet looks to only be lower half mouth coverage though, perhaps some medical mask to keep germs away from his burnt skin?

I think he'll blame Reed for his condition and have a battle before leaving and then adopt a different look. Kinda like Doc Ock escaping the hospital in medical robes then having a different look for the rest of the movie
