The Amazing Spider-Man I don't know what troubles me more...

Don't let it discourage you from USM. The first 10 or so volumes of USM are quite good. I started to have problems after the Carnage arc, but even then, there were still a lot of stories I liked.

And yeah, it's got problems, but still I'd take USM GG, Ockneto, and Kraven-cat over Mephisto the homewrecker.

It doesn't get any better. Mr. Negative, Menace (ANOTHER GOBLIN!! Wow, I'm sure glad they rebooted Spider-Man for that) Amazing has never been worse than it is now.

They have made some bad moves of late, sure. But overall I still prefer the "616" storyline.

I just hope that they find a way to get other marvel characters in it. Tony Stark could do a thing for Peter's high school or somthin.

Stark and any other Marvel character that hasn't been licensed to Sony isn't going to show up in a spidey movie.

Thank you.
I think what troubles me most of all is the speculation from numerous fanboys that the reboot guarantees that they'll get EVERYTHING they want this time around. There is truly no way to answer every complaint & grant every wish. And in all likelihood, some of the things that they actually liked about the Raimi films will be absent.

No one in their right mind, who's for the reboot, thinks that it guarantees that we'll get everything that we want. It can go either way, but I much rather take my chances without Sam Raimi, Maguire, Dunst, Bruce Campbell, Ted/Ivan Raimi. Unfortunately, we can't get rid of Avi Arad, Laura Ziskin and now Alvin Sargent (because he's bangin' the producer and she has to make him seem relevant as a writer, which he isn't anymore).

I would love Nolan to reboot the spidey movies. Thanks to him we finally got to see the true character of Batman on the screen. All the other Batman movies sucked till Batman Begins came along. They turned him into a killer and did the unthinkable killing people.Batman hates to kill people and only did so in the comics in the beginning when there was no other way out. Thanks to Nolan, they redeemed themselves with Batman.I bet he would so the same with spidey.Nolan would never have given him those stupid organic webshooters or made The Green Goblin costume into looking like a joke the way it was or any of those other stupid things Raimi did to that dumb franchise. Please let us have Nolan behind the helm of spidey so we can finally get a good Spider-Man movie made as well.

No. Just... No.

Way over the line my friend, way over the line...For so many reasons.

Contrary to popular belief, Christopher Nolan is not Jesus Christ.

Why? Raimi dumped so much cheese, had absolutely no foresight whatsoever with this franchise, and gave us "every villain is connected to Peter Parker" lazy garbage.:whatever:

Chris Nolan - sure, all his Batman films are hyper-realistic, but boy, are they pretty great.

Christopher Nolan may have presented a good Batman but I believe he is not a good fit for Spider-man. Do you really think the guy who gave us a Scarecrow in a suit with a potato sack mask would give us a faithful looking Green Goblin????
I know its popular to trash on Raimi (give Nolan a few years and it will be the same for him) but he did the best with what he had. The Spidey movies were done by commitee with various people having a say on the story and what villains were done.

Thats not going to happen. Unlike Raimi, Nolan actually has a very successful career outside comic films. All Raimi ever did was cheesy horror films. That said, Nolan would make a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE Spiderman movie. Good thing he's smart enough to know that. Spielberg, thats who'd make a good Spidey film. Heck, I like the idea of Webb, I just don't like anything else we've heard from the reboot.

I can see this happening if Nolan misses the mark with Batman 3. He's another guy who's made a string of quality films. Now that he's really hitting it big, if the third Batman film, is mediocre/sub-par, rabid fanboys will go completely turncoat. Even those who are worshipping him and saying he should direct every comic book film now.

If the third Batman isn't good, watch how many "Christopher Nolan Sucks!" and "He never made any good movies" posts will pop up. Count on it.

Its an ugly cycle. Fanboys will turn on Nolan...just like they turned on everyone else.
Look at Bryan Singer. He made 2 pretty good X-men films and one mediocre Superman movie and he's labelled a hack.
Nolan is soooo revered that people are going to start trashing him just to seem edgy. It happens to everyone.

They've all gotten it. Lucas got it, Spielberg got it. Peter Jackson got it when Kong wasn't up to their standards.

Exactly...Peter Jackson made LOTR trilogy and look how quick the fanboys turned on him

Maybe you are right, fanboys will turn on him, I thought you meant people IRL... Yes I am implying most "fanboys" don't have a life.

I actually loved Jackson's Kong movie, it was bloody long but still a geat movie in it's own right.

People turned on singer because singer left the x-men movies, that's the primary reason and when x-3 turned out to be crap and SR offered nothing new other than superboy with asthma, fanboys went nuts.

I for one think Nolan is a fantastic director, a true visionary and that's what separates him from the likes of Raimi, Nolan actually has a vision and is a much better story teller. However, I think his batman movies are overrated and as much as I dislike Raimi's spidey movies, I will never ever deny that in some instances littered in all 3 of his movies, Raimi did manage to get a few things right but overall, I look forward to Webb's take because one, it's an alternative take on the character and two, I saw 500 days of summer, so I know Webb can handle dramatic moments and the mre comedic moments well.

I think Nolan's turnaround movie will either be Inception or Bat3. I think people are so hyped up for him that if any film isnt equal to or greater than TDK fanboys will flip on him.

Lucas was never good though.

The Lovely bones and Kong were both mediocre.

Back during the 80's Lucas was up like Nolan is now...there just wasnt an internet
