PErsonally, i find USM to be a series that butchers Villians, and is overall uninteresting. I don't even need to explain the Villian part. All people need to do is just look at the VIlians, and then they'll know what I mean.

Sony is in the business of making money. Therefore they will do what they think we want. In all likelihood they will model the approach on what we've responded to in the past with other properties.

No. Because it's spider-man, sony will do what they want and they know we'll pay to see it. SM3 to many people is an abomination yet, it was the highest and fastest grossing movie of the 3.

I just hope that with all these other superhero movies being released Webb understands that sticking closely to the comics is the way to go and for him to give us something awesome and overwhelming. I just can't wait for Marvel to get the rights back tbh.

Yeah, we gotta have cool dance scenes and some sappy love-triangle mush, coupled with horrible dialogue and characterizations.

Humor is one thing, cheesy dialogue/antics that take you right out of the film is quite another.

wtf has your opinion on the raimi movies got to do with the fact he feels(as a lot of folk do it appears) that the usm series ruined a lot of villans by 're-imagining' them?
is this just more of 'kaw twists every discussion no matter how unrelated into a raimi bash and/or attacking spider-man fans who did enjoy the raimi movies?', what fun, can't wait to read more of your insightful posts, jeeziz krist.

I'll give you Green Goblin and Kraven, but Ultimate Ock and Kingpin were amazing. Hands down some of my favorite Kingpin and Ock moments ever were in USM.

And to clairify, I mean Ultimate Ock before them made him Ockneto. Up until that point, ultimate Ock was pure badass.

I don't mind the movie following the "Ultimate" comics, but a Nolanized version of Spidey? Um, no please. At least not in the first film. I didn't realize there was so much dislike for Ultimate Spider-Man....with the other Ultimate series...thats a different story.

I collected all the first volume of Ultimate Spidey, this new version I don't like at all so moved into the Amazing line and wish I did it years ago.

It was good seeing Peter from the start in USM but I got tired of all the High-school-ness of it all in the end, I was hoping the new volume would see him grow up and go to college, he doesn't seemed to have aged at all over 5years.

My worry with these films is they just keep rebooting every 10years and were never gonna see Peter out of school/college, I think one film in High School, one in College then one in the working world fits fine, the films grow with the actors. The last thing I want to see is 3 films of Peter stuck in High School.

USM Venom kicked the ass of 616 Venom in terms of being an actual character. In the comics, we never even saw Eddie Brock until he was already Venom, and then he hated Spider-man for catching the real Sin Eater because Brock had a scoop with a guy admitting to be the Sin Eater when he was really just a cook job that wanted the attention.

The cartoons were what expanded upon Venom and made him more interesting, but in the comics beforehand, he was a straw man character.

Electro I'm a wash on. It's not like he ever had the most interesting storyline in 616 either, so there's nothing really better or worse about either to me. I'll give you the rest though. A lot of people prefer USM Carnage, but I love 616 Carnage, I just think he got overexposed so people got sick of him. USM Scorpion was an interesting "what if" kind of villain, but I wouldn't want him over 616. Kraven and Shocker. Yeah, definitely. I completely agree.

In addition, I thought USM Sandman was fine, as well as Vulture and Beetle.

I will say this as well, USM Green Goblin was much better when he came back after his first appearance and in the Sinister Six arc and later appearances. When he could actually talk and all that. But he's got nothing on 616 Goblin.

Yes, I understood the pretence of your words, but felt there was an ulterior motive. This opinion has been expressed umpteens times in many threads by many posters, and it's only now, with this particular poster, that you take it and twist it around into bashing the Raimi movies?
So, this isn't an attempt by you to continue to sneak in little attacks on the posters you were having all the arguments and running battles with, that disrupted the boards a couple of months ago?
