I don't think Sandman had anything to do with Ben's death

I'm not sure this idea has been mentioned (sorry if it has). I think that when Peter is one with the symbiote, the symbiote manipulates Peter into thinking Sandman had something to do with Uncle Ben's death in order to get Peter to kill Sandman. (through some sort of flashback). Does this seem likely? Throwing Sandman into the mix of Ben's death is kind of a stretch (even though it would make for a tighter involvement with the drama) but this would surely exemplify the evil of the symbiote and would reinforce all the more reasons why Peter should rid himself of it...

Just a thought..

yes this has been said before, but i think its a great idea

The Q&A said it, and it later got proven with the set pics. Plus Aunt May's "Uncle Ben would want us living with revenge in our hearts" line helps confirm that Sandman is the killer too.

I think Sandman being Ben's killer is WAAAAY too much of a stretch, but it does help with the drama as fear&loathing said, so it will work out just fine.

PLUS....Peter was already going to kill Sandman....he's a villain. BUT...revealing that Flint Marko (The Sandman) was actually Ben's killer will HOPEFULLY create a GORY/BLOODY (sandy, lol) final battle between Pete and Flint.

I am hoping that it is Pete who kills Flint, not Venom. Venom has the honor of taking out Harry.

Yeah i think sandman is ben's killer.

maybe when simboite spidey was fighting with sandman, the symbiote somehow got the memory of flint killing ben. (it happened in ultimate spiderman)

Well I would rather have it be the symbiote illusion thing, but its still very unlikely to happen.

another poster had something very intelligent to add to this before, it was in another thread and i dont know where it is but it was something along the lines of this. sandman killing uncle ben will piss off all the fans, but the general audience will love it, because as the story flows along the audience will be putting pieces of the puzzle together and when they figure out just before spidey does that sandman killed uncle ben it makes them feel intelligent.

i know iv felt that way before while viewing a movie with twists

OK, if Sandman killed Uncle Ben, then where in the hell did he go? He killed Ben, then ran off and the thief stole Ben's car?

Yeah probably. The thief is just some guy that helped him.

It would be cool if Sandman was the killer, would show a whole new side to him.

This is something that has been discussed for months, but the true unquestionable answer is still far... There was a script summary that had him as the killer, and some pictures that suggested the same, but still, the summary could be based on an early draft of the script, or could even have been a purposeful leak. It was kinda suspect that the pictures were taken and post on the Internet so easily and Sony never asked to remove them, even though it supposedly reveals a big twist. And there´s the USM plotline where the symbiote makes Peter mistake a thug for Ben´s killer.

Still, if it´s true, I don´t think it´s the end of the world... Fine, it´s a stretch of "villain must have a personal connection with Pete", but it has an interesting point for this storyline, what happens if Peter gets deep into darkness, to the point where he wants to revenge Ben with blood? Some think it removes from Peter´s guilt, but in fact according to both summary and pics, the burglar worked for Marko and brought him the money and Marko killed Ben for him to get the car, so Peter still is indirectly responsible.

If he is the killer, doesn't that take away from the whole power and responsibility lesson of the story? I mean sure, Pete still learns a powerful lesson, but, I'm sorry, if Sandman ends up killing him, that will take away alot of classic story-telling for me.

yah and every avg movie go'er while viewing the first film agian, will always point out how pointless the car jacker part is "since he didnt even do it"

I hope the Q&A gets something wrong, and some of these people's heads will explode.

"Well, the Q&A says.."
"According to the Q&A..."

Wow.

I just hope its not true. They'll be tampering with one of the greatest stories ever told.

same here if sandman is the killer then that might change that with great power comes great responsibility phrase. it would still be awesome though.just kinda weird, it hasnt been confirmed yet though so i dont know if he is uncle bens killer. the pictures do prove he has something to do with it or peter having an illusion hopefully thay will confirm what happens with that. we will find out when the movie comes out.

I still think Sandman being the killer is a just a cheap way to make a boring character more important to the story, and then ruining the history.
