I, Frankenstein

They've scaled it this high so many times that they can't go any higher so we're now stuck with a ridiculous level of danger. For once I'd like to see them talk about just one person. Or even just because it's a revenge thing. No need to involve the entire race of humanity every time.

I agree.

I didn't know the Underworld people were involved and the trailer made it look pretty similar.

it made me want to see a live action Gargoyles movie

This is really unrelated to the movie but I saw people say the creature was supposed to be sort of beautiful in the original book and even in the text it looks pretty nightmarish. From the wiki:

Shelley described Frankenstein's monster as an 8-foot-tall (2.4 m), hideously ugly creation, with translucent yellowish skin pulled so taut over the body that it "barely disguised the workings of the arteries and muscles underneath"; watery, glowing eyes, flowing black hair, black lips, and prominent white teeth.

I've read the original story and Frankenstein's monster is anything but beautiful or normal looking.

this is what he looks like in the comic

Definitely not Aaron Eckhart either.

That is what the monster is supposed to look like. And we get a handsome actor with a gym sculpted physique.

But jeez this movie does look like absolute balls.

I've never understood the logic of a ''monster'' having to use a gun.

Yeah, a while back The Vile One stated that the comic (which in my view was used as a pitch for a movie then as a real series/one shot) had the Monster as a pulpy PI type.

In the movie, he's the generic hero type. What a shame.

Eckhart did this for the paycheck, I'm sure. Either that or he just wanted a role to just have fun with or whatever.

So the Frankenstein monster looks like Aaron Eckhardt with some minor scars here and there? I'm not seeing this movie, not even out of curiosity.

I tried to look up info on this comic online and it doesn't seem like it was ever released at all. Theres some artwork here and there, but I think u're right. It was used as a pitch for this movie.

Update: Actually, it looks like it was only an online comic...here: http://ifrankenstein.thecomicseries.com/

I think the very idea of Frankenstein's monster being a P.I. is stupid beyond words and would only be okay as an SNL skit. What's even dumber is making Frankenstein's monster attractive with a six pack. Everything about this project is so full of stupid.

if your only idea of Frankenstein is the slow moving, moaning monster from the movies then yeah...but he was pretty intelligent in the book. I'll never disparage someone for thinking outside the box.

I saw the trailer for this on Friday and decided that it is a definite pass from me. I am not even going to bother picking this up from the $3 bin at Wal-Mart, when the time comes. Plus, the CGI looks like absolute ****.

yea, he was articulate in the original story. probably closer to how the robert de niro version was in the 90s movie.

i would say he's probably evolved in the last 200 odd years since his creation in I, Frankenstein. That's why he looks like a sexy scarred version of Aaron Eckhardt now. :oldrazz:

I know what he was in the original story and I still think making him a P.I. is dumb. Yep they "thought outside of the box" and made a horrible looking movie that's being released in January. Making Underworld/Van Helsing starring Frankenstein is not even thinking outside of the box. The movie looks completely derivative.

Just about everything in the trailer was ripped off from other bad B-movies so tell me again how original it is again? You guys are free to but I will not being giving props to the hacks that made this terrible CGI'd nightmare.

I wasn't saying this movie was not derivative. I probably won't see it. Just the idea of Frankenstein as a PI is not dumb. If done right it could work.

I looked into this movie and there is a reason why this looks like Underworld: The comic and screenplay were written by Kevin Grevioux, who wrote and acted in Underworld.

I just like the idea of Frankenstein as a super-hero, its nice to see monsters other than Hellboy be made out to be heroes and always fighting against their nature. The trailer is bound to show off the action and effects, but who knows, we may get some good character building for Frankenstein himself.

I don't know why, out of all the horrible things about this trailer, the fact that the "monster" is apparently being called Frankenstein bothers me, but it does, lol.

because you know the monster's name is actually Adam and not Frankenstein.
