haha, thinks egg-o i think the creases are pretty well done and almost natural looking.
They recast in Batman Forever, and that was one of the biggest movies of the year. Clearly people don't really care about recasting, as long as they enjoy the film.No I didn't. Think about it: Continuity would be much more rewarding finacially for WB and DC. You start getting new actors to replace the previous ones, it spells doom (re:the previous Batman franchise, Superman Returns).
No, a good entertaining movie=cash flowContinuity=greater cash flow
Yeah it has great detail to it. I think I'll be getting one of those![]()

I've actually been hunting for a Riddler bobblehead, like the one Nygma has in Forever
-----
I've really started to like the smudged look of J's make-up now. He just doesn't care, does he? It's like he hasn't got time for cleanliness; he's too busy being insane![]()
Heh! Thanks
I keep hearing the buzzer noise in my head now![]()
No problem.
The name of it is Wacky Wobbler I think.

LOL! That's a funny name
I wonder if in about three years we'll have a thread saying 'I guess Two-Face Just Applies Make-up After All'?![]()
You haven't seen the blurry Two-Face action figure pictures?
But it could still be make-up or a permanent marker from when he's had a sleepover at the Mayor's when they all got drunk

You got that right. If it came down to it, I'm sure I could dig up some old posts of mind, entirely discrediting anyone who thought make-up was even an option.Who knows? Maybe that'd be more "realistic" than scarring...
In all seriousness, if somebody had told us in 2005 that we'd all be having this discussion about the Joker in 2008, we would have laughed them out of the building because that would have seemed completely unfathomable.
I, as well. I remember when this poll had 400 or 500 votes and was 65-75 against make-up.When I think of it like that, I'm sometimes amazed at the acceptance that the make-up Joker has attained. It'll be interesting to see how the issue is addressed in TDK (if it is at all).

And really, I almost can't conceive of the character without white skin (or at the very least, a white face). Begins did so many things right that I can't imagine the powers that be would/could goof up something like this. So, at the risk of being disappointed in 11 months, I'm convinced that the Joker at least has a white face.
True, very true. I remember threads from IMDb two years ago, talking about the Joker wearing makeup. People, myself included, told them to get the hell out of here; Nolan would never ever do that.Who knows? Maybe that'd be more "realistic" than scarring...

Again, very true. One thing that gets me on these boards and others is how some people act as if there's simply no other way the Joker could be done. I can tell you with the greatest of certainty that, had Nolan gone with permawhite, nobody would be sitting here, shaking their heads, and going "Bad move, Nolan."Well, for what it's worth, here's what I had to say in this thread back in August:
(I still hope that's case, by the way).
Anyway, I don't know if the acceptance of the make-up is a sense of inevitability, true faith in Nolan, or apathy on the issue because of the footage we've seen of Ledger, but I'm still surprised by it.
I don't think any proponent of the makeup could say with a straight face that they were ever bothered by the permawhite skin prior to the idea being floated by Nolan.
And, as for your pondering of just why it's accepted, I believe it's the latter. Apathy. Ledger's performance is good, so we might as well like everything else.
Well, you're just a big old sack sunshine n' lollypops, aren'tcha, fella'?all in all....batman still stinks and so does this joker
