One of my local cinemas has a 'VIP' option, which costs a few dollars more but it's 19+. They also have a nice bar, much better washrooms, you can order food from your seat, the seats are excellent, etc etc. But the main appeal, and the reason I try to go there as much as possible for anything I want to see on the big screen, is that most of the audience is usually in their late twenties or older.
Come to think of it, my favorite restaurant/diner has an entirely separate section of the building for people with small children. It was still my favourite place to eat before I knew that part existed, but learning about that certainly solidified it's place.
