I think HRG was the Assassin

I was thinking that they may be trying to dig out Peter and Nathan's dad as the assasin.

That he really wasn't dead after all but in hiding for whatever unknown reason to us.

Never thought about HRG--good possibility--but I am leaning more towards my original thought or atleast some variation. I think the shooter is going to be someone unexpected and new to the show.

It was not HRG.I watched this scene in HD on my comp and anyone can see that the man walking away has the same build as Zachary Quinto or Milo.Tall,slim build,dark hair.

If I would compare him to anyone,it would be Sylar in Season 1 when he was wearing the black long coat and the black cap.

the only problem I see with this theory: they just did that. If season 3 goes over the same basic narrative, with different characters in different roles, I won't be very impressed

I thought it looked like Peter, but I could be wrong. I see they thought to put a cap on the guy to try and disguise the identity more.

I seriuosly doubt it is HRG I mean yea it makes sense and I totally understand why this thread was made cuz it could be him.... but I think that he would kill nathan... for one claire was already upset that he didn't want her to expose the company and that made claire mad at him..... killing her BIO father would make things worse...... second yea he may work for the company but he also hates it and wants them to go down.... nathans mom hasn't ever been involved wit HRG and she obviously knew wat was goin and and was involved with his death......so it is someone who is involved with mama petrelli.... but HRG is a seriuos posibilty... I want it to be a new villian..... heroes needs new villains....having a handfull of heroes and two villians isn't cuttin it anymore..... there needs to be more of a threat and more mini arcs.... so the heroes can be hereos for more than one episode

I don't think it was Bob. If it was Bob, why not show as much? Afterall, he is basically the prime suspect. Why make a mystery if the payoff is going to be Bob? My money is on Papa Petrelli.
