Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Iain de Caestecker is Leo Fitz

I suspect that, confronted on the issue of Fitz, Ward would provide some facile motions of regret while saying, or at least implying, that they should be happier. After all, he had tried to kill both of them, and both lived, isn't that grounds to be grateful?

Fitz needs to fix himself (as he also now needs to "work hard & earn" Simmons' affections) and whether he starts with The Machine to install his "back-up" or keeps investigating old SHIELD/HYDRA tech .... I sense a downward trend to the MCU version of M.O.D.O.K. (I think Iain De Caestecker would be excellent in the part)

I think we may see Fitz being the blueprint for MODOK but we may also see some kind of tie in to AOU, with possibilities including Fitz trying to re-map his brain onto a LMD, or one of his attempts becoming the self-aware Ultron.

:hmm umm what?!

fitz rises to the challenge every time, would people have him a villain

Some here would like that but I really want him staying a good guy. Would love to see him eventually develop in to a higher echelon SHIELD agent, be the chief engineer or some such thing.

G'day,

I doubt he will be MODOK but I think I know how he will be cured. I "writing on the wall" he mentioned the memories are not deleted but backed up. He knows the mind reading machine can bring forward buried memories. Expect him to use it to try to restore his memories.

yeah would not like to see him a villain either. The scene when garrett was outed and had a gun to the team made fitz an offer, fitz reply made him the real hero for me, smaller versions of that before and after, obviously giving oxygen to his comrade/woman he loves in a life and death moment being not one of the smaller. Think it would be pissing on his character development to have him a villain, the best hero's carry a cross but yeah chief engineer will be a nice eventual reward.

You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain..

hmmm I need to do this, my mind ain't what it used to be lol

I think it would be a really great twist if Fitz uses the memory machine to help his recovery but has a flashback showing that he and simmons are sleeper hydra agents but his programming has been wiped after all he has been through. Then Simmons is the reluctant villain for an episode or two until they manage to reverse the effects.

There has been some speculation that she is a sleeper (well, speculation between her, bobbi and hunter)

That said, I don't think Hydra's actions towards her when she was a mole help this theory. Just spitballin.

I too think he will do something with the memory machine, but I honestly don't see it helping, it may even backfire. He's just not seeing how much progress he's been making lately, he still thinks he's going to go back to the way he was and I don't think it works like that. But I do think him getting away from Jemma is a good step, not the best for their friendship, but maybe that's for the best. They need to figure out what their new relationship will be.

As for Jemma being a sleeper agent, I think she's worried she could be and doesn't know it, not that she actually is. And I don't think they will make Fitz a bad guy, but I don't like to assume things, I only hope they don't. :)

I'm not fond of the idea of Fitz being 'cured'. I don't think he should miraculously get better. I'd like to see him carry on with his disability and persevere in spite of it. He has still proved capable of going on missions and being a valid part of the team and he has improved since the beginning. I think it would feel a bit cheap if they waved a magic wand and he was all fine again.
