So when Lindsay was on Saturday Night Live a couple weeks ago, did she give any explanation for why she looks like death-warmed-over now?
In the promos, she said something like "I'm so excited I haven't eaten in six months!" which is funny, but still doesn't explain what her problem is...

I just missed her SNL monologue so I'm curious as well. I don't know why I care so much about her new anorexic look, guess I saw a bright, busty future for her. :

I did a little research and apparently Lohan's SNL monologue from 5/21/05 had one of the SNL comediennes playing the "2007 Lindsay" travelling back in time to get the 2005 Lindsay from partying so hard. I haven't seen a download or an actual transcript, but it seems the jokes were about Lindsay's "partying", and not about her anorexic appearance.

Admit it guys.... if they showed a picture of skeletal lindsay in Maxim all soapy and airbrushed you'd be like "DAMN!!!! I'd hit it!"

You asked why any girls would want to look like that. The simple fact of the matter is that most girls (especially adolescents) want to be liked. They see the boys/men drooling over what's in penthouse and maxim, etc... and think "I have to be like that if someone is going to like me." The fact that the woman in question may be more plastic than flesh or that the picture was heavily airbrushed doesn't matter.

Also... from the male perspective... if you are constantly looking at all these gorgeous women in magazines, even though they're airbrushed or whatnot, don't those pictures set the bar in a way for your standards of women?

Being female and having coped with self-image issues, I'm just curious.

I think LL was much prettier as a curvy redhead but I can sort of see where her thought process is coming from.

I agree somewhat but if you look at Maxim you can see that most of the women in there aren't that skinny. Some are occasionally, but most are fairly curvy. Because that's the only way you can get the T & A that guys like so much. This month's issue had Vanessa Marcil who is definitely not a skinny blonde. She's curvy. And that's what we like.

Lindsay Lohan is naturally curvy. And she looks great that way. Losing weight just has the effect making her look worse.

I'm not saying I wouldn't sleep with her if the chance arose (though she's a bit young for me) but if I knew her in real life, I wouldn't actively pursue her now that she's skinny.

I disagree completely. Before she looked HEALTHY and pretty. Now she looks sickly and unnattractive. I think it's very sad

I agree with this but the point that I'm trying to make is... most women don't make that body frame distinction. They think "guys want skinny. must be skinny." regardless of what build they are (ectomorph, mesomorph, or endomorph). This leads someone like LL who has a probably meso build want to look like someone who is a natural ecto.

Another thing is... it's easy for women to make generalizations about men's taste in women. The generalization is that men want skinny women with big boobs - which really doesn't happen in nature. This isn't necessarily true but that's the generalization. It's a cultural stereotype.
