I love Begins, it was a masterpiece to me, and of course I felt TDK was a better more improved version of it. So of course I liked that more.

Yet I remember getting in arguments of the third act of Begins. I felt the third act was fine. The water guys now I can tell were kind of an annoyance, but not too bad. I mean the first few times I saw the film in theaters I never really was bothered by it nor the pacing of it.

With TDK the only part I cringed at and kinda got annoyed was the "Oh that's not good" guy that sat next to Gordon during the chase sequence. Sometimes he was good, I liked the: "Is that a bazooka?" but a lot of his lines to me were very annoying. Especially the "Oh that's not good....OKAY THAT'S NOT GOOD!" That was the only part of TDK (I admit even my favorite films all have flaws ) that kind of annoyed me.

I guess I was always more annoyed by that guy then the water guys in BB. Even though TDK had less "bad lines" and was to me dialogue wise near perfect. But that one guy....lol. I hope B3 keeps away from him.

Ummm Goyer worked on TDK too. He's a great idea man/comic expert. His screen writing is weaker though, but the Nolan's have always been there to correct that. And that is the same set up they had with TDK. Just Chris helped with Begins. But both brothers including Goyer helped with TDK.

No he was involved in the story writing. Not the screenplay, but the story. He had the outline of it prior as well. He had planned out a trilogy with Nolan when they did Begins. So it is no surprise that he's finishing with them as well.

Goyer's contribution to TDK was basically he co-wrote (in collaboration with Chris Nolan) a scriptment for the film. A scriptment is part script/part treatment, that basically lays out the entire story for the film and might include bits of dialogue. That scriptment was then handed to Jonah Nolan, who turned it into a screenplay.

Though director Christopher Nolan’s brother Jonathan is credited with writing the screenplay for The Dark Knight, Goyer is not completely giving up on Batman. ”I wrote what you’d call a ’scriptment’ with Chris over an accelerated monthlong period, and then we handed it off to his brother, who did the first pass,” explains Goyer. ”Jonathan is a very gifted screenwriter in his own right.”

Yah, the SWAT guy next to Gordon is the one of two things I HATE in TDK. The other is Rachel Dawes. I STILL say Ledger's best acting is calling her "beautiful"

I absolutly hated this scene, thinking God nobody would shout out and sound this friggen stupid and thick skulled, but then 2008 gave way to 2009 and with the new year came Town Hall Meetings. Man was I mistaken

The way i look at it, you can't have what a real SWAT guy would be saying in reaction to those events, he would be swearing and cursing like a trooper, it's a 12/PG13 movie, so they have to have these kiddified reactions, and they have to be short and to the point.
The guy is actually a very good actor, Nicky Katt, he has been in a couple of Linklater movies, 'Dazed and Confused' and 'Suburbia'. He was also in Nolan's 'Insomnia'.

and that's the thing, I don't know if there is a screenplay out there that points out who wrote what exact lines(as there is for the Star Wars screenplay, where it tells you what lines Gloria and Willard Hyuck contributed), but if Goyer had his name on the screenplay of TDK, it would be a pretty sure bet he would be getting the blame for the Nicky Katt lines.

I'm quite amazed at what puts folk off a scene sometimes tbh, those water tower guys were the least of the BB climax problems.

I'm not saying the guy is a bad actor but they could have put better dialogue in there. This movie was PG-13, and a heavy one at that. People getting pencils shoved their their skulls, smiles cut in their faces. Yea they can say the F- word once in a PG-13 film, and swear up a storm if they want. PG-13 does not =kiddie. TDK was one of the more dark films, especially with its themes. I think putting in some "S-words" and so forth would not have done anything. It could have been easily inserted into TDK.

But like I said its a small quibble, and it does not "ruin the film" for me at all. And either does the water guys, and I never saw the third act of Begins bad but that's for another topic.

I love BB, but I just think the climax is not as good as the rest of the movie, the fight between Ras and Bats is not that great, the editing is a little choppy there.
I do like things about it that other folk don't, like the reveal of the secret id to Rachel, I think it's a good moment.
The Scarecrow was used terribly though, great visual that is seen for a moment but ultimately goes to waste, just taken out with a stun gun by Rachel. Ok, she gets payback, and Crane is just a wimp really without his fear gas, so it makes sense, but it would've been a much better visual for a Batman 'as seen under the fear gas' to have swooped down on the 'as seen under fear gas' Scarecrow and horse.

I dont see what's the problem with this. Dent was making a speech about not giving in to the Joker and the cops had had enough of getting blasted because of Batman.

The batpod was part of the Tumbler, it always was we just never saw it at first. It was not "made" it was a feature in the Tumbler and in a sense the Tumbler itself.

And as for the bunker...its not that hard to figure out he has the resources to make it. I'm sure they won't show him "build the Batcave" in B3 it will show it completed I'm sure. Why waste time on something that is obvious?

The problem isnt the lines, its that the actors delivering them are horrible.

The guy saying no more dead cops looks like hes about to bust out laughing.

Well, I have to admit this news does have me a little bit excited. I'm perplexed at why they hired Nolan to produce on Superman - he's hardly the ONLY person capable of making a great superhero movie - but on the other hand we're long past due for a Superman film that takes itself and the characters seriously. And I say this as a fan of Superman: The Movie and Superman Returns.

Where do you live, Munchkin Land? Those lines are actually very genuine. I realize they may not be punchy movie-style dialogue, but that's pretty much exactly what an angry cop would say in that situation. "NO MORE DEAD COPS!"

Also, you say that the people speaking out in Town Hall Meetings proved the genuineness of this scene for you? Your assertion that these people sounded stupid put aside, you clearly haven't ever seen a crowd. People on picket lines, people protesting abortion, protesting anti-abortion laws, people protesting guns, people in favor of guns, people at sporting events, people at rock concerts... this is how they sound. This is how YOU sound if you are ever in a crowd. Hell, it's how you sound RIGHT NOW.

You must have missed the whole part in Begins where he enters the prone missile launching position, and then in TDK when Joker busts up the tumbler, and Batman ejects into the pod.

And is it really all that difficult to believe that Bruce Wayne, billionaire, who is also BATMAN, would have bunkers and safehouses all over the damn city?

Do we NEED to see him purchasing an apartment or a dilapidated warehouse or some crap?

No. That's boring. All we need to know is that he had the bunker because the cave/mansion was being rebuilt.

Also, Bruce lived in a penthouse during Denny O'Neil's run of the Batman comics. So that makes sense too.
