yea if this interview is true welling is most likely not supes for the film. I may love welling on smallville i jsut dont want him playing supes when still filming smallville and all that. They should either got with some unknown/semi known actor or atless let routh play supes again to see if under a different director the fans will like him more or not.

Great! Finally someone has some balls to actually go on the record regarding all these rumours flying around about Welling, Gough, and Millar!

For cryin out loud....so basically from what it seems is that the Welling as Superman thing has not been as imminent as it would seem.

Be careful , Sanchez also said that negociations were still going on two days ago with Gough Camp.

what i know is that Sanchez never said that he was sure of something when he was not.

That Ed Gross guy seems on the level. He isn't saying that Welling won't be Superman(he wants him to be), but he said the interview is real.

i still think it is pretty sure welling is not it. i would love ot see him as supes but not now with smallville still going on and all that. They should let routh return to see if he fairs better or just get some new unknown/semi known actor for supes.

It looks like welling is out. really, he is the only name we've heard besides rouths. Could they really have a new superman already cast without the name having been leaked out?? kudos to them if thats the case.

I don't see how it would look that Welling would be out because of the statement of a man who lied numerous time (and who has surely a nda )

Remember Sanchez not only said that some days ago that there were still in negotiations but yesterday and he said also that :

I called Gough's reps over at William Morris and got to his agent who quickly told me to call their PR department. Normally, and I am just observing, if a story is not true, the agent will tell you that its not true because they would know, since they would be part of the negotiations, but by them telling me to talk to their PR department felt like they are stalling.

Welling out? things are not so clear..

I had a thought, after all the debate over who should play superman, welling/routh/new actor, or the debate of is welling even in consideration, who do you think George Miller wants? dont you think he might have a little influence in the casting process, I mean he is going to direct this picture, and Wb seems to trust him a little bit, so whats a realistic choice for him. Would he pick welling to don the cape and boots, hmmmmm

I doubt Miller would want Welling for JL. WB could be a different story though. I trust in Miller and hopefully he will get the right man for the job. The cast for this movie sure is a complicated one, and we are in for more controversy, especially when it comes to Superman and Batman when they are finally announced. With that said, I hope Routh or a new actor gets the Superman part.
