I haven't noticed that trend. Her tombstone in the comics reads "she will rise again" but that is really more of a maudlin statement of fact. Nature of the beast. Phoenix is not so named because of the weighty finality of her demise(s).

Exactly. That's the whole, underlying concept behind Jean's powers and the reason why it's called the Phoenix in the first place. A never-ending cycle of life and death.

Xavier is considered the most powerful telepath on earth. Not due to bragging rights, but by fact. And even he can't imagine what would happen to his mind if he were to die (well ok, so we sort-of have an idea after watching X3, but I'm trying to keep the suspense alive). Now, we have Jean, who's more powerful than even him. So imagine what her mind could do...

It's the ultimate manifestation of her powers: not shooting fireballs or blowing up cities or curing deadly diseases or regrowing limbs or reading minds or erasing minds or flying or manipulating molecules, but the ability to transcend death itself.

Unfortunately I intended for it to be a workable sequel that would 'fix' TLS, so refining it beyond the planning stage would mean watching TLS again, something I never intend to do.

Oh come on, even I got myself to read parts of the novel and watch a couple of TLS clips on Youtube for research purposes. At least knowing that the bad parts can be improved or fixed into something better makes it worth the effort

I've tried and tried thinking of reasons for Jean to come back. But everything would literally be ridiculous. Jean is gone for good in the X-Films, I think.
