Exactly. That's the whole, underlying concept behind Jean's powers and the reason why it's called the Phoenix in the first place. A never-ending cycle of life and death.
Xavier is considered the most powerful telepath on earth. Not due to bragging rights, but by fact. And even he can't imagine what would happen to his mind if he were to die (well ok, so we sort-of have an idea after watching X3, but I'm trying to keep the suspense alive). Now, we have Jean, who's more powerful than even him. So imagine what her mind could do...
It's the ultimate manifestation of her powers: not shooting fireballs or blowing up cities or curing deadly diseases or regrowing limbs or reading minds or erasing minds or flying or manipulating molecules, but the ability to transcend death itself.
