If the JLA gets Made how would you design the Costumes?????

But the reverse-colored S on the cape isn't something that was invented for that design. Many Superman versions have that...

reduce the symbol size considerably, change it to the classic S, and we got ourselves a suit. ;)

I know it's part of his costume, but I don't like the \S/ on the back of Superman's cape.

Updated: with a smaller "classic" (as in SR) symbol.

i'm not sure i can take anything other than the classic design :csad:

looks nice man can u get the shield's red to match the other red or are u going for two toned reds?

Thank you. nah i wasn't. i tried to match em as much as i can, unfortunately, the symbol is a real picture. but i noticed it also. lemme try again.

Update: how about now?

hey steel what happened to your updated pic it is back to the normal look of that image.

maybe i was editing when you refreshed? try again. and let me know if the red fits better. i've been looking at the pic for a while, so i may still miss it.

looks better man but since u said u took it from a real image it will be hard to match the colors. What manipulation program u using?

adobe photoshop 7.0. i think the colors match the symbol pretty well now (b/c i used the eye dropper :woot:). but if it had a black outline around the symbol, or it was drawn, it would have been perfect.

(i'll look for a drawn symbol.)

ok yea i was just going to mention use the color/pattern copy tool go over the red from the cape/boots/shorts and then use it on the shield. Then also take the yellow/gold from the belt and use that in the yellow/gold of the inner shield.

i changed the symbol. i even put in the white light streaks. check it out. :woot:

the problem with the copy is that you don't get to keep the original shadows and lighting. thats why i just use replace color. but since i'm using a drawing this time, it was a lot easier.

looks good i cant really think of anything else to modify it but maybe fad the yellow shield part a bit.

i actually kinda like the yellow. but i did lighten it up a little. but i never considered the shade of yellow whenever i draw the character, but it looks kinda cool, to me at least.

i always thought that aborted suit would be godd for jorEl to wear in flash backs, since it looks similar enough to the classic suit, yet different to show maybe his status.

:word:
Nice Job guys! I just think it's time to get rid of the red skivies. What do you think of maybe a red sash in front of a gold belt? I also like the original neckline thought I like what you did with the shield. unfortunately I don't have the software to do manips on my laptop so I am relying on your considerable creative genius to bring my ideas to life. I think that Supermans suit should be a variation of a Krptonian military dress uniform. I imagine a cross between AR's Captain Marvel design and the original design which is why I like the military high collar design. What do you think?

you should change the way you quoted it, cause it looks like i said it.

sorry man, i just cant drop the trunks. :csad: the thing is, i grew up with the classic design. i'm not sure if anything other that would work. i'm not talking about whether it looks realistic or retro, cause it doesn't, but it's just part of the story, i'm not sure if i can just let that part go. i don't care about the matrial itself, there are armoured variations, slight color differences, and subtle differences like the belt buckle and cape symbols, but even from those three, i can't really see accepting anything more "left" of the middle one (if you think of it as a spectrum from McG to classic L to R). i mean, think about how many people didn't like the SR suit, and it had the classic design with subtle changes. people caused wars over that. i don't see these being accepted.

What next? eventually, they will drop the trunks...then they;ll say no one really wears capes anymore, so lets drop that...then the glass as a disguise just doesn't make sense, so lets give him a mask...then in order to make him more relatable, they will make him human in a superman powered suit given to him by jorEl. Slippery slop man. This is just my two cents.

Think about it this way, when you were a kid, and you pretended to be a superhero, how did you do it? you put your tightie whities over your pants, put a towel around your neck, and call yourself [your name]-man, or super [your name]. where do you think the inspiration of your "costume" came from? Do you really wanna get rid of that?

I'm working on another set of JL movie micros, and I wanted to hear some ideas for the attire of the second-string members of the JLA:

Atom, Black Canary, Green Arrow, Red Tornado, Black Lightning, Vixen, Hawkman & Hawkgirl, Zatanna, Elongated Man, and Blue Beetle.

Did you all see ^ practically in full use on the series finale of Legion of Superheroes? With the exception of no S on the cape, yellow on parts of the boots and the wrists, the suits were almost identical...

It kind of looked cool (except for the yellow highlights)...
