If the shredder does come back...

I guess what I am trying to say is that if you make a TMNT movie with Krang and the mutants, is it a movie that is based off of the cartoon or is it a movie based off of the comics like the previous films.

If you watch TMNT4, at the end with room that has Shredder's helmet in it, they reference a number of villains... from the comic book, the movies and the animated series as well...

Even though TMNT is primarily based on the comics, just like the previous films they make up characters and storylines that never existed in other incarnations. I actually like how they pull from anywhere instead of strictly following what has already been done and retelling and rehashing old stories... it keeps it fresh.

I like the idea of the new TMNT movie being a hybrid of the best parts of the previous incarnations. Krang, Bebop and Rocksteady would be great to see on the big screen for once.

What's with all the hate for TMNT 2 and 3. Number 2 was great, and 3 was okay. Both more entertaining then the Turtles in the future cartoon we have now.

As for the Super Shredder dying, I always figured if regular Shredder can fall off a building and be crushed by a trash truck and survive, surely a Super Shredder could survive having a few planks of wood fall on him. I just figured he got knocked out. Regardless, I'd rather have regular Oroko Saki in the next movie

What's with all these original comic purists here. How many of you here can honestly say you were fans of the original black and white comic BEFORE the 80's cartoon series? I've read the rereleases of them and they are no less corney then the cartoon or TMNT 2.

Nathan - "The Episode you're looking for is called "Same As It Never Was"."

Was that the 80's toon or 2000's? I don't remember that one.

ReallyCoolGuy - "^^ Not quite sure I follow you... but that's okay... on the Tokka & Rahzar comment... I was actually just reading that on Wikipedia... I would like to see that episode... anybody have a link?? (or are we not aloud to post that stuff with these strict-a$$ forum rules)"

I think the episode was "Dirk Savage: Mutant Hunter", during the later "darker" seasons on CBS. They didn't act like babies, they were more sophisticated. I don't have a link though.

Are you saying that if you saw the cartton first then you can't be a comic purist? Makes no sense to me. And if you say the original comics were no less corny than the cartoon, I doubt you were reading the actual original comics. You know, the comics were Mike checks out an alien chick with six boobs, Raph drinks beer, and Leo decapitates Shredder?

No, you can be a comic purist, but you look like a trend hopper. It seems like eveyone who is dissing the old toon saying it's corney and too kiddie and the Mirage stuff is much more sophisticated and mature act like they grew up with the original and the toon ruined the turtles. But, most people here GREW UP with the original toon and liked it as a kid. Liked it enough to go back and read the original comic.

It was cool to like the toon as a kid, now it's cool to hate the toon cause it's too kiddie, and the orginial comic is "underground" mature cool now. And the new toon based more on the original comic seems a little kiddie to me.

If it wasn't for that kiddie 80's toon, we wouldn't have the turtles now.

Original underground comic with a small cult following, beget hugely successfull syndicated cartoon series, beget movies based loosely on original underground comic with small cult following beget lousey live action tv series, beget moderately successfull cartoon series, beget pretty good cgi movie. Oh, then somewhere in there was Archie comics.

If it wasn't for good ol' corney, kiddie-ass 80s cartoon, turtles would have stoped at original underground comic with a small cult following.

Actually, Peter Laird should be greatful for the cartoon series, it keeps paying his bills.

Yes, I've read THAT original comic. While graphic and mature, a bit on the corney side.

Hmmm... that all sounds pretty corny to me...

...just for the record, bell110, I gotta cosign just about everything you said... except, I don't wanna see Krang or Bebop in a movie...

classic shredder ruled and everyone expects him back

i just hope we never have to see tohka and razor again .
