The think is I don't see how this is marketable to a kid audience as the thing costs $450, I can't imagine any self respecting adult buying it unless they are someone who has a collection of replica belts and is a completist.

The title does have a bit of a Championship ring look.
Some are already dubbing it the Superbowl ring belt.
It's not necessarily the look of the belt, but rather the want to have their logo as big and clear as possible so it's noticed. That's they're main requirement behind the design, imo.
Haha, I can just imagine the kids asking their parents for it, with the replies of "I'm not buying that ***!..."![]()
I'd be fan of Sheamus. Obviously because I get his humour and mannerisms (thankfully he's toned down the naff oirish storytelling) but he's also a fine worker. He's made matches with the likes of Show and Tensai a lot more entertaining than they had any right to be, plus he's capable of holding his own with the more technical wrestlers such as Del Rio and Bryan.
He's been lost in the shuffle a little bit (what can you do when Trips, Rock, Taker and Brock are pencilled in for the "money" matches at WM) but I'm just glad that he has gotten this far. Would never have thought he'd one of the company's top faces.
Guys, I've said it before and I'll say it again: it's called the WWE Championship. Not the WWE World Championship. That's why they have the World Heavyweight Championship. It makes sense that, since the WHC focuses on the "world" (i.e. the globe in the dead center of the center plate) that the WWE Championship would be built around the WWE logo. This is the rationale I see in the design of a championship belt, and to be honest this is a really good looking belt, especially the specific belt Rock debuted (mainly because the logo itself isn't as "thick" or "casted" if you will). And I personally like the textured black leather background, it's different and goes well with the burnished gold color they made it (it's NOT bright gold like in the WWEShop pics).
My opinion is that this is leagues above the Spinner, which I always thought was disgusting. This one is probably a 7.8/10, MAYBE an 8/10 after a couple years.
It's a marketing tool. Pure and simple. Vince and the E seem more interested in brand recognition these days, rather than class, prestige and tradition.
We all know this. But it just feels a real shame that the company seem to be eradicating almost everything that made it so popular and regarded to begin with. The thing is, those days are done, and we need to get over it. It's the biggest open secret that
wrestling is fake!!!
But before that it was viewed as a legitimate sport and so the belts reflected that. But people are wiser now, and so why continue to play up the "sport" aspect of it when it is in fact "sports entertainment"?
And just for the record, I was wrong in calling and criticizing Cena to be the one to unveil the belt. I hold my hands up and admit I was wrong.

John Cena Says He Wasn't Sure If He Was Working WrestleMania 29
John Cena revealed in a recent interview with NOLA.com that he wasn't sure that he would be involved in this year's WrestleMania event.
That's everyone's favorite belt.
Honestly, it just doesn't fit the current era of wrestling.
It would look to out of place on a John Cena, or even CM Punk.
It was a dastardly thing to do , but glad you've come clean on this.t:
He's in the upcoming Halle Berry flick "The Call" produced by WWE Studios.
Also starring Abigail "My Brother was in a million Tim Allen Movies" Breslin.
I feel bad for the kid who really wants to own one of these things. I thought it might be cool to own a belt , but if we're talking five hundred dollars it better be one that was actually used.
reminds me of this :

John Cena revealed in a recent interview with NOLA.com that he wasn't sure that he would be involved in this year's WrestleMania event.
"Had you asked me three months ago would I even be involved in WrestleMania, the answer was probably no. So I literally just had to, uh, stop being a boo-boo face, you know? [I had to] get off my horse of pouting and get back in the mix, and that's just what I did... There is nobody more excited than me because very rarely do you get that first chance, you almost never get that second chance. So, I'm very happy to be there."
oh John, John ,John John, John ,John

I get your point and Dark Sentinels regarding why the logo is the centerpiece of the belt instead of a intricate design with a globe, it sucks but I get it. There's still no excuse for the Liberace diamante use though.
It felt like a big breakthrough when he won the WWE title a couple of years ago. I never thought I'd see the day where there would be a British/European WWE Champion.
I like his ring work and I'm convinced he could have a good match with just about anybody. I think he deserves a good spot at Wrestlemania and I'd like to see the proposed match of Mark Henry vs Sheamus. I don't think his character stand out as much because of the Cena like goody two shoe act , but they could tone that down so he's not the Smackdown Cena.
