Sequels If they used The Green Goblin in the sequels, he should look like this....

What if the guy who is the Proto-Goblin,transforms into a red skinned creature. Norman uses the serum, but DOESN'T transform, but instead makes a costume similar to what Proto-Goblin looked like, but obviously being Green, his favorite color?

This made me chuckle haha.

That sounds cool, but doesn't make sense... why would the guy who's Proto-Goblin have such an adverse reaction to the serum whilst Norman doesn't? Unless, when Norman gets the serum, he works on it some more... so that he only gains the strength, etc but doesn't turn into a monster.

Green Goblin's favorite color is green isn't it? :woot:

I think the Proto-Goblin is just there as a stepping stone for Norman. I think maybe Nels Van Adder makes the Goblin formula, turns into the monster, and Norman tries his best to enhance or replicate it,thus becoming the Green Goblin, cause his favorite color is green.

Lol, sorry but that sounds kinda corny. XD ...I'd prefer if he didn't give himself a name. I'd prefer his name to come from Jonah or something. :)

I was joking, lol. I really wouldn't expect a scene where he rises above NYC and scream at the people

"LOOK AND TREMBLE IN TERROR,AT THE SITE OF THE GREEN GOBLIN...CAUSE I LOVE THE COLOR GREEN!!!!!!"

I ALWAYS advocated and specifcally mentioned a Mission Impossible type mask, it would work brilliantly and people would not have to question it because they have seen it in Mission Impossible. All they would think is "Oh yeah ... I've seen... SWEET!" Disbelief goes out the window in 4 seconds flat.

There's a panel of the Goblin (Thunderbolts #120) saying "I am God!"

Not that's the insanity I'm talking about!

This is what I want to see on film.

Being insane as he clearly is(and the goblin is a by product of that) i think he's one of the few villians who i would be ok with coming up with thier own name.

The blokes insane he decides to dress as a goblin i think it's not that much a stretch to think he'd give himself and equally oddball name.

Certainly people like Sandman, Dr Ock,Vulture, Electro etc probably shouldn't be running around screaming "Call me X"

Persoonally, I don't mind how he gets the name either way. Just so long as it works either way.

Omg omg omg... I lol'd xDDD :woot:

I would want Hobgoblin to look like this.

Yeah, but it would be tricky to keep his face shadowy in live action.

There is only one way way to go with the Green Goblin

But just so long as he doesn't look like a Power Ranger reject like in the first movie

And the perfect actor John C. McGinley

Yeah, these masks are pretty cool. Problem for me is, I really want to see Goblin emote. I want to see his face actually move and twist into evil grins and horrifying snarls. This mask, while a great proof of concept really won’t do that. I’m of the idea that they should present goblin’s mask to be of this variety to the audience, but when Gobby has it on, it is in reality prosthetics and make up that look like the mask, but will be more malleable for the actor’s expressions to show through (think of the Orcs from LoTR).

Oh c'mon, we're talking about a comic book superhero movie! Human climbing on walls isn't possible in real life, but people are not like "Well he should have suction cups on his fingers for wall climbing, that would be realistic!"

So, why is the Green Goblin's mask such a big deal? We have this great proof that a simular mask can be made but still you want more proof? Movie realism isn't like real life realism, they can stretch the rules a little bit.

And isn't Norman Osborn filthy rich? If that mask we saw can be made with 1000 dollars, imagine what Norman can do with his money?

He kind of does look like Norman Osborn, but after watching scrubs I really can't take him seriously :woot:

Really? :whatever: Here’s some advice for ya:

Step 1: Go back to elementary school.
Step 2: Pay close attention when the teacher goes over Reading Comprehension.
Step 3: Come back here.
Step 4: Re-read my post, as well as my other posts about this topic.
Step 5: Read your post.
Step 6: Understand why I’m rolling my eyes at you.

I obviously see the potential for this style of mask, because I said it was a great proof of concept. The part of my post you put in bold was merely me stating that I didn't want that quality mask used as the actual mask the actor would wear as Green Goblin, as others were suggesting. As I mentioned in other posts, there is only so much that can be done with a real mask of any quality. That’s why, (using the superhero movie logic you mention), the movie should SAY Norman is using a higher quality version of the mask we’ve seen in this thread, but when the character is "wearing" it, the actor is actually wearing prosthetics to give us the movement that a mask of any real-world quality would fail at. It’s called having your cake and eating it to, or to use your words, stretching the rules a little bit.

In short, you're arguing with someone who pretty much agrees with you because you read one sentence and pounced, instead of reading the entire post and nodding.

Yeah you agree with me with some things, but maybe I should've explained myself more clearly: I don't agree with you that it should ever be mentioned that it's a mask like that. It's just as unnecessary as explaining how Spiderman's mask gets perfectly attached to the neck when he puts it on. It doesn't need explaining, it's just a mask.

My post wasn't ment to be a angry argument post, I just hate how people go overboard with this realism thing. Everything doesn't need explaining, a lot of times it's unnecessary.

Yes McGinley has the look, he has the arrogance, has the intelligent delivery, explanation, and knowledgeable persona, has the witty rebuttal that the Goblin himself needs when confronting Spidey. Yes, he possess half of the persona of Norman O/GG. However, he will need to overcome, his typecast characterization, of being a goof ball. If he’s able to conjure up the acting skills to play a more determine, skillful, shrewd, strategist Norman Osborn; than, I’m find with him playing such a monumental character.

Besides, look at the eyebrows of the two.... he is going to have to get rid of that silly looking Dr. Cox smirk; and, down the eyebrow a little, to make a more sinister scowling smirk.

I get that, and understand your frustration, but I think that's causing you to misinterpretation my intent. I don't mean that they need Norman to sit there and explain anything. I mean that they can simply show him pick up a mask of that style and put it on/take it off. But while the actor is actually wearing it, its prostethics. It's got nothing to do with adding realism, infact its actually about suspended disbelief because theres no way a full blown mask could smote the way we want the goblins to.
