I agree! But not so much with a Norman mask.
I've said it before, but a cross between Ultimate and 616 is what I'd like. A formula that doesn't make him hulk like, but similar to Captain America/Red Skull's transformation.
Not overdone body wise, but have his skin discolour and his features warp to look just a little extra bit creepy! With that, tie in the medieval stuff and have him portray the goblin role.
Of course, have the transformation be controllable by Norman (vials of goblin serum maybe?) so we can have the duality factor in too.
Yes! That's exactly what this series needs to differentiate it from Raimi's Goblin. But make the design as close to 616 goblin as possible. It really could be that way if Goblin is linked to the Lizard by being reptillian in a way, but maybe a different reptile that gives him the Goblin appearance. And he refines the transformation process so that he keeps control unlike Connors. The thing is Peter acquires the abilities of a Spider while still retaining human form. Norman might want this sort of transformation with Lizard-like abilities substituted but ultimately fails, creating his goblin form. And can't understand what was so special about Spiderman's transformation. Maybe he finds a way to morph back and forth whenever he wants taking him onestep beyond Connors and closer to Spiderman if you get what I'm saying. In short, I think all three origins are related, and that could possibly bring in Man-Spider later on.
