The final battle was the biggest disappointment to me too. I was there, looking at it, but at no moment it made me anxious to see what would happen. Heck, it doesn't present ONE single moment of creative use of powers.
First, when I saw the X-men getting ready to it, I thought "already? I can't believe this damn movie is gonna end already. Where's the development?"
Then, we see Storm spending the whole night to take out Callisto (because she doesn't do anything else), ?"
Wolverine doing the same ol' Logan job,
Iceman making damn Ice walls and then going all Street Fighter style (seriously, you put a life level on the up corners and it's a 16bit video game battle).
Colossus shouldn't be in the movie at all. Not even in the action he has any part. I can't help but notice that the only reason he was there was so the crew could say "see fans? We put Colossus!.
Now clap your hands to our awesomeness!!!". Kitty and Beast still do some nice things, but that's it.
You guys are all hitting the nail on the head completely, we had Storm, possibly the most powerful mutanta involved other than Jean, and she does **** all all battle, this is someone who controls nature for christ's sake, yet all she does practically all movie is shoot lightening at people (WHICH BTW should have killed said people straight away, or at least one of them).
Iceman vs Pyro was just like Ryu vs Ken from a streetfighter game but with less imagination!!!!!!!!! At least in SF they could use other moves!!!!.
And then there is Magneto who decides to wait until ALL of his army are until throwing the hundreds of METAL cars waiting behind them at his opponents. God what a terrible movie!!!!!
I do not 'love Ratner so much' so cut that crap out for a start!
And I agree it was wrong to cure Rogue and use that stupid youtube line for Juggernaut.... This is where the producers needed to be watching more closely, as Shuler-Donner herself said no X-Men member should take the cure.

Donner actually was quite upset with Rogue's ending on the movie.Wait, she said that? Huh, turns out she and the other producers might not be completely out of their minds.
Can't help but wonder exactly what the hell they did during the rushed production...![]()
To put it simply, she's not Wolvie. So, eh.

No, no, no. You don't get it. It's EPIC to have the fight ESCALATE. Apparently, throwing cars is the best X3-Mags can dish out, so...![]()
Let's say for instance that Magneto had thrown the ignited cars first of all... What then? How would the X-Men have stopped him, how would things have progressed? Don't just bash what we saw, suggest something that is obviously better.

Sorry I'm a little late but a few pages back someone suggested who could have played Angel better instead of a younger more emo guy. Well, the first fault was not enough screentime and Ben Foster did the best he could with what he was given but just for a more accurate representation of Angel, I'ld choose Adam Pascal...

If it's my vote, I'd rather see a mature, adult Angel. One portrayed as having been a veteran member of the team and well established with the other chars like Beast, instead of this new, emo kid on the block.

Been saying it from day one that whiny emo Warren was downright idiotic.
Apparently the writers didn't get that even though it's a AU, there should be some SIMILARITIES other than powers.
Go ask movieverse Bobby.![]()
Betcha that tv Colossus is carrying was probably Scott's :P
ntcrawler said:Magneto obviously never read the "if I were an evil overlord" guide. Well it could have been worse. Magneto could have had a loud, maniacal laughter and made those sweeping proclamations about "fools! I will destroy them all!"![]()

Sadly though, it seems to help alot of this new generation of movie viewers to connect. As such, they should have taken things with Warren a step further. The char should have hair following over his face, shown sitting up all night in front of his computer holding up signs in front of a webcam, posting in his BLOG about how life sucks and how he feels he's such a freak.

Bobby: "Mom!!! There's something wrong with me."
Mother: "No, Bobby. It's not just you. There's something wrong with all of us."

I´ve noticed you mention Wolverine in almost everything you post.Come to think of it, I'm surprised they didn't have Colossus throw Wolvie around and have the runt slice the cars in half.

Well, in fairness, you dont use the most extreme (or most effective) weapon at the start of a conflict. Otherwise all real-world wars would begin with a nuclear bomb being dropped and that would be that. But that doesnt happen - conflict does progress in levels as the sides try to assess each others strengths and weaknesses. And Magneto obviously wanted to show there was an army of opposition against the cure, that it wasnt just him opposing it. He was rallying people to his cause through the movie - and yet he has the power and experience to act solo at any time. Why then does he need a Brotherhood at all if he can do the things he does? By your reasoning, he wouldnt need or want to bother recruiting anyone to join him. Why bother recruiting an amphibian with a 20ft tongue? Why bother recruiting a metamorph and using stealth infiltrations when he can just crush buildings, smash things to pieces, deflect guns and bullets, wreck military weapons? Why doesnt he just go round on his own smashing everything that gets in his way in order to take over the world?
*However, yes, Storm was grossly under-used (partly due to the cutting of the flash-flood scene). Iceman did at least create an ice wall that some of the mutants crashed into.
