Comics I'm getting tired of Wolverine.

Famke is 5' 11" but Jean is only 5' 6". Technically she's Halle's height. Where as Ororo is Famke's height.

So they got that all backwards. But I hate it how Wolverine is randomly getting taller outside of 616 too, ugg and better looking too.

Ultimate Wolverine started out as 5'6" and is now 5'9". That's worlds away from the short hairy ugly mug he's was orginally. Not to mention that he's never drawn as hairy in any book. Thanks Hugh....booooo.

5'3 is way short. Probobly why 616 Wolverine is always drawn as being like 5'8 instead. I dont think the writer knew exactly how short 5'3 was when he created him. Why are you booing Hugh? He looks almost 100% identical to Wolverine in the comics.

I'm just tired of Wolverine period. And the only reason he's on the avengers is to make marvel money. Same with Spiderman. Two giant cash cows racking in the dough for marvel.

No he does not. He was able to replicate his mannerisms very well in the first movies. After the movie, they have made Wolverine to look progressively more like Jackman, but that does not mean Wolverine looks like him. Through most of his existence, Wolverine has been a short, stocky, scrappy looking guy who you'd actually peg as kinda ugly.

Yep, look at Wolverine before the movies and after them, there is a difference.

Reicho... Ultimate Wolverine started at 6'1" and started slowly getting SMALLER.

WHAT! Since when. He's been short since the early 80's. when I first started with comics. He premired in The Hulk. How tall was he then? I honestly don't ever remember him being over six feet.

I do know that Ultimate has him getting better and better looking, and taller.:ninja: It's ironic that Scott started out super buff and her good looking in UXM, and is getting kinda fugly and nerdy as time goes on. That is so wrong.

Uh... you do realize that Ultimate Wolverine is not the guy who premiered in Incredible Hulk 180, right? Check the Ultimate statistics. Wolverine in the Ultimate continuity is officially 6'1", even though at times he's been drawn as shorter.

Look dude, I know that. That's not what I'm saying. Ultimate Wolvs was not always listed as over six feet. He started out as 5'8".

What I was saying was that 616 Wolverine started out in Hulk as a runt.

Was I really being that confusing?

Well, 616 Wolverine's height has no bearing on Ultimate Wolverine's height. Because they're two different characters. It doesn't matter that 616 Wolverine is portrayed as short. Ultimate Wolverine, at least initially, was portrayed at closer to Hugh Jackman's height for obvious reasons.

I know, that why I said booo earlier. Its a sad shame that to sell the character to a new generation they had to beautify and enlarge him.

I liked the short gruff hairy kinda fugly backwater runt, before he was the poster-child for "success".

How is it a shame? Its a whole new take. A different direction. The Ultimate Universe could be so much more(BKV's Ultimate X-Men),but writers insist on rehashing 616 stories over and over.:(

I posted this picture in the sequels forum . . . I found this advertisement for the Animated Series interesting, as Wolverine is standing front and center and is even in a position as to be standing taller than everyone else.

Except that he's clearly standing both in the foreground and on a lower elevation that the others. He does look taller than he should, yes, but not too much so.

Ultimate isn't anything new, just as Cyclops said, and I was trying to say, UXM is riding the curtails of the blah movies.

There's nothing orginial about them. Wolverine is becoming Hugh Jackman, somewhere down the line they forgot that Wolverine came along long before the pretty boy did.

Yeah, I know. I didn't mean to imply that he was actually physically taller than the rest of the X-Men. I just found the way in which he is positioned in relation to the rest of the team interesting . . . I thought it somewhat relevant to the notion of Wolverine's increasingly dominant presence in the X-Men universe.

I never thought of Hugh Jackman as a pretty boy.

Ok Mr. Intelligent. Whaterever you say. But let me ask you this, have you ever heard of the term oversateration.

Yea, that's what's going on with Wolverine. He doesn't need to be everywhere all the time doing everything. Genious.

The "sucess" of Wolverine is going to equal the "sucess" of Snakes on a Plane for the same reason. Oversateration. By time it comes out, not enough people are going to care enough for it to pul a profit because they've been bombarded by the media.

BTW, every film needs extreme fans to sell it to skeptics. If more hardcore fans hate it, then there's a problem.

Just so you know, and knowing is half the battle. :o

Hola, Reicho. Uhm, honey...no one has heard of the term oversateration. It's not a word. The phrase over-saturation is. :p Just saying... because...

LMAO. Sorry I'm an a$$hole. Love ya!

BTW--I agree. Wolverine is my second favorite character. Well, correction--the OLD version of Wolverine is, but alas the golden days of Marvel and originality are long past. Now it's gimmick, gimmick, gimmick and no substance. *sigh*

O loveable one :meow:, oversateration is a word. Here's a section from Webster's about using "over" as a prefix.

"Words may be defined by using the prefix over- to mean 'excessive'... or in the case of verbs 'too' or 'excessively'.

It was used alot in my marketing classes. I'm sorry, please don't hate WW. (I love you lots!) But it was key in learning how to *NOT* adertise elements of the entertaiment industry.

On an end note, I LOVE the sig. You always make the coolest ones. And that is the greatest show ever made. We should start a trend. But now I need to add to mine. I have a nifty line from Toph I wanna add.
