I think the 616 clone saga at certain points is worse at handling the character of Peter than OMD did.

It butchers the Spider-Man mythos, has an annoying as hell Deadpool ripoff Spider-Man, bland writing, terrible execution. The creators have a ****** attitude towards fans who don't like the show and not to mention that it replaced the most universally praised, best adaption of Spider-Man from the comics: Spectacular Spider-Man.

I'd say it deserves the hate it gets from fans.

I think if you remove the cutaways, it would be pretty much a modernized mix of both Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends and the 90s cartoon, both are pretty stupid, but were pretty popular when they were new.
I don't think either one of those two shows would have been as popular as it was if people had such a great access to the internet as they do now.

So apparently the new Season will contain
-Lot of Hydra(Spidey can't trust everyone)
-New Team Line up(But more solo Spidey action and a little less reliance on his team(or teams) from what I see in clips)
-The Sinister Six Lineup changes throughout the season. Including a crossover from Miles universe Goblin and Miles Morales into Peters universe.
-They Dynamic Between Aunt May and Peter is now(obviously) quite different.
-SHIELD is a mess, still recovering from events from last season.


But what has me most excited is that they say there will be a Carnage/Symbiote Arc similar to symbiote arcs in the comics and Maximum Carnage was also brought up for comparison, so it makes me wonder will they have the courage to push the shows limits for something at least a bit mature. They showed Peter was actually dead in Miles world so that gives me some hope.


I'm looking forward to the season.

Saw the first two episodes. Pretty good so far. Show quality has noticably improved. Unfortunately the fourth wall breaking thing is still there. Scarlet Spider portrayed as a very interesting character.

It's definitely not the best Spider-Man animated series..at all, but it's tolerable if you just go along with whatever is being presented.

One thing I did like about the series when watching is the new ideas that are presented (Which 99% of people hate here, but I digress), such as Harry Osborn as Venom, Vulture being more of a hybrid between man and bird, Amadeus Cho as Iron Spider, etc. etc.

Ah well.

To the emboldened...imo, this is such a weak argument, for anything really. You're basically saying, this show is just OK as long as you turn off your brain and don't try to either think about what you see, connect to it emotionally, or relate to the material. It's like the Emperor's New Clothes. We'll all just accept what we see and not question it.

Ah well, indeed.
