The Dark Knight IMDb-Phillippe IS dent

Jesus. "In Nolan We Trust" my ass. I didn't think it was possible for anyone to get more praise than Nolan and Bale on this site but I was wrong. Apparently only Liev Schreiber can save Batman when he hasn't even done anything yet. You people are ridiculous.

Well, actually at first, all fans were shocked about Ledger getting Joker's role. But I doubt there are many ppl, who hate this choice.

But Phillipe has another situation. He doesn't look like Dent/2Face and he is too young for this role.

As for Ledger, he proved himself as worth actor after Brokeback Mountain, in which he looked much older than his real age.

Besides, Ledger has Joker's face, smile and hair, so he can pull it off.
He does a little bit actually

IMDB is not very reliable ...plus it says take over the role from Tommy Lee Jones.....??
Yes...that's correct

You don't sound like a Liev Schreiber supporter.

Well, I honestly can't think of anyone more suited for the role than Liev. I mean, even visually....the dude looks like a Tim Sale drawing brought to life. Kinda like how Batman from the BB film kinda does look like a Tim Sale drawing as well.

So, anyways...IMDB.com, huh? Aren't they the ones that said Bale was like 5'6 (when photos clearly put him at atleast 6'1!) and gave us that horrid "script" for the TDK?

Listen, don't take ANYTHING on that site serious. NONE OF IT. Nada.

IMDb is about as reliable as Joel Schumacher directing a Batman movie.:o

I'm not opposed to it. I think he looks right for the role. But I'm not gonna praise anyone for a role before he's gotten it. Especially Cotton Weary.

THANK YOU. I personally don't understand all of the fanatical support Schreiber has on this board. I think he's a very good actor, but no matter how great he might be, his being cast in a movie doesn't guarantee it will be good (Hamlet, anyone? Sum of All Fears, maybe?). If he does land the role, great, but there are plenty of other actors who could just as easily portray the character of Dent well. And as for him looking like Dent... hell... that's only depending on who's drawing him. He does resemble the Tim Sale version, but if we're basing everything on his artwork, then I guess Patrick Warburton should have played Bruce Wayne.

I'd have no problem with Ryan Phillippe as Harvey Dent. I've liked the guy since I saw him in Antitrust a few years back, and he was very good in The Way Of The Gun and Crash. There's a lot of good buzz about Flags Of Our Fathers too. He's the right age and yeah he may not look like Dent- but you know? In movies they can make a person up to look like a character. Who would have guessed how much Oldman would turn out to embody Gordon in BB?

If this is indeed true, it wouldn't really shock me too much. After all, Rachel Dawes was written as a mature, strong woman yet the part was given to Katie "I still look like I belong on the creek" Holmes. You have to admit, she was easily the worst aspect of Batman Begins. Aside from the fact that her performance was all around flat, she also had very little visual chemistry with Christian Bale. She simply didn't look like the person she was supposed to be portraying.

I'm not happy with the news, and I hope it's false... jut saying it would suprise me at this point is all.

I dont really want phillipe as dent personally, i wouldnt mind too much, because just like with ledger, i trust nolans choices. But if this was true, i think the major news sites woulda broken it. Its just imdb, with its unreliability, so i wouldnt put too much into it. Its been a slow couple of weeks for us bat-fans :(

"THIS THREAD SUCKS!!!"

I just don't get you people sometimes. Phillippe is a good actor, just as good as Schreiber. And I'm saying that as someone who's been a Schreiber supporter. Yeah Phillippe seems young, but(how many times does this need to be said?) he can be made to look older. People are made to look a certain way they're actually not in movies all the time.

Its like some of you have zero imagination.

How about Ian McShane?
http://www.ianmcshane.net If you watch him on Deadwood, He already is Two-Face. You never know what side he's working on. I think he would do great in a literal sense of this as Harvey/Two-Face. The other main actor on that show, Timothy Olyphant would do great if you want to go with a younger actor. :batman:

There's one thing that little IMDb article is missing:

PROOF.

I can't really say I like it. Dent should be clean cut, but not pretty.

I dont like this phillipe dude playing Two Face it screams Shamaucher to me or however his name is spelt.

That's very understatement, with Nolan he has great story to tell example "Batman Begins" problem with Schumacher he can cast great actors Jim carrey, Nicole Kidman, Val Kilmer, Uma Thurman and Tommy Lee Jones etc... But he couldn't tell great story about Batman example: BF and B&R So even if Philippe Ryan (sp?) cast Dent that Like I said above he can tell great story.

Looks like this rumour is gaining ground. **** what you heard about a "pretty boy" while the comic nerds were thinking Ledger and Phillipe were thinking tha,t they were building a strong portfolio. Nolan knows how to get good performances out of actors in roles you wouldnt expect them to do well, just look at Cillian Murphy as Scarecrow or Robin Williams in Insomnia. Plus with a strong story and Bale, Freeman, Caine, Oldman how could these guys mess up? Even Holmes cant mess this up.
Besides if Tobey can be Spiderman or Keaton Batman then this aint too much of a strech.
This movie is in good hands

How is this rumor gaining ground? IMDb is reporting what BOF reported weeks ago.

Because that's how they gain ground duh lol, one site reports then the next. I'm not saying it's brewing up a storm of speculation but it's come up. WB could come out tomorrow and say no he aint im the running and that's cool but his name has been bouncing around the net and a few sites for a couple of weeks now, so you have to be believe maybe he is one of several candidates they are considering, I'm not saying he got it or would be a dead lock perfect choice I'm just saying people might have to consider maybe his name is being looked at that's all.
You gotta admit his name has stuck for a minute. Jackman and Gylenhall rumours only lasted like 5 days or something. But let's see....

I do find it hilarous that when people give reasons as to why Ledger and Dent shouldnt be Joker or Dent they say there "too pretty" as if to imply Steve Buschemi should get it or some **** (and I've heard it all before geek boys, you cried about the same thing when Cillian Murphy was cast back in 2004 I remember those threads), just let them build on there rising careers with a great director and co-stars at the helm.
