That's very understatement, with Nolan he has great story to tell example "Batman Begins" problem with Schumacher he can cast great actors Jim carrey, Nicole Kidman, Val Kilmer, Uma Thurman and Tommy Lee Jones etc... But he couldn't tell great story about Batman example: BF and B&R So even if Philippe Ryan (sp?) cast Dent that Like I said above he can tell great story.

It's probably false. IMDb has a bit of history with sometimes getting their information wrong. Not to mention it isn't the best site when it comes to upcoming films. Nor realiable. Personally, I doubt it's even true. Not that I would have a problem with the report actually being legitimate, of course. IMO, Phillippe COULD bring life to Harvey. He has the right qualities, and he has acting credibility. He's someone who could easily play out the "playboy" aspect of Harvey. Not to mention his darkside. And, like I've said before, if you really put it in perspective, his "pretty boy" looks could actually serve a purpose with the destruction of his face.

Still, it's best to wait it out. IMDB isn't one of the best sites to visit for news. It's like Wikipedia reporting Misha Barton is a candidate for a new love interest, when we all know it's false. Phillippe isn't my first choice for the role. But I wouldn't mind if he landed it at all.

dude...IMdb is crap when it comes to shat like this...its a rumor thats over a month late...but I've already accepted Phillipe as a choice...I have reviewed all his work...and I understand that Begins introduced characters in the Batman/Gotham universe that were much younger...if this is how they introduce Dent and The Joker...two younger looking villains to be...then yeah...I get it...and Phillipe is in many ways just like Ledger, he didn't want to be type cast in teeny bopper movies after cruel intentions...just look at Way of the Gun...and with Ledger...the Four Feathers or the Order...they didn't wanna be playing "that teen heart-throb" for very long...so, I'm down with it...while I think there are thousands of great choices out there...and only about 10 well known actors that we spout about to play these parts...Phillipe...(if its true) is a good choice.

lol@ people sayin Imdb is crap when they forget that the broke the story about Bale being Batman in August 2003.
Let's not it get confused here kids, imdb is still the most credible database for movies granted there WENN affilate who breaks news isnt exclusive all they do is take the news and rumours that are floating around the net and present it n a daily report of general going ons in the world of entertainment. That's fine.
Besides with EVERY mention of someone up for a role in Dark Knight they have said it's a rumour from several websites.
So dont get mad at imdb, get mad at the insiders who sending the same info to Batman-On-Film, AICN, CHUD etc etc or anyone who brews up a strong rumour on message boards, Blogs and chat rooms.
IMDB/WENN just do round ups of what is heard or see. I never understand why people go "uhhh imdb is crap". Its not like there reporting these things exclusively and have never claimed too.
Sad thing is if it was Liev Schrieber I bet the house half of you guys who do a straight 180 and pop the champagne bottles over him finally being mentioned....

Bettany was for sure going to be a top choice for The Joker. Instead, casting went into an opposite direction, Bettany's performance in The Da Vinci Code may have played a heavy factor into him not getting cast for the role of The Joker.

However, Ledger hasn't really had a role of a character that is similar in any way that The Joker is. So, expect someone you didn't think of to be cast for Harvey Dent.
