The Dark Knight IMDb-Phillippe IS dent

BS. Imdb is less reliabe than anna nicole smith's boobs.

BOF has it up now.

Phillippe Is Dent?
Author: Jett
Wednesday, August 16, 2006 - 5:54 AM CENTRAL TIME: Several BOF‘ers gave me a heads up about a news blurb over at IMDB.COM that claims the casting of Ryan Phillippe as Harvey Dent is imminent. While BOF was the first to report this rumor, that’s still all it is to me at this point -- a rumor.

You should post the link as well that's Jett said before.

Well, that doesn't say much. It's just a link to the IMDB article...

I'm not sure what to think about the possibility of Phillipe being cast as Harvey Dent. Phillipe isn't a bad actor, I just didn't think of him as being cast as Dent. It is about as out there as Ledger being cast as Joker. Who would have guessed Ledger for Joker.

I always reserve judgment until the performance is turned in, but if this is true, than my reaction is "meh."

I do the same as well. I'm not saying Ledger is a bad choice or a good choice. I'm just suprised he was chosen for the role.

IMDB reported that Katie Holmes isnt coming back and it looks like they were wrong about that.

probably, but i find it interesting the rumors garned THAT much attention. imdb does selective reports and at this point i think its clear philippes more then just a standard rumor.

IMDB doesn't do 'selective reports', they run a couple different other news services' wires and that's it. That story was run by WENN which is basically a gossip rag, so I wouldn't put too much stock in it yet, especially since they're the only ones running the 'story' (ie they just caught wind of all the rumors).

IMDB is not very reliable ...plus it says take over the role from Tommy Lee Jones.....??

This is hilarious because I'm pretty sure that IMDB uses BOF as a source.
An example: from 24 June 2005 "An insider tells website Batman-on-film.Com that the A Beautiful Mind star is officially in the running to play the evil character." BOF was the first site to mention Phillipe as a candidate.

So BOF is reporting on something IMDB got from BOF. The circle of life continues.

IMDB is bs. They are the same site that claimed Kate Beckinsale was Wonder Woman from joblo.com. Joblo even said it was a joke in THE ARTICLe, so we can discard this rumor for now.

I find it funny IMDB has one of the worst reps on the internet in news, yet so far every thread with IMDB in the thread title seems to always reach 2-4 pages in a day.

Well, if IMDB was reporting a heavyhitter like Russell Crowe or Phoenix or Scriber or even Pierce as Dent I would agree, but a choice like Phillippe which no one seems excited about, reeks of the same smell as the casting of Ledger for the Joker.

Well, actually at first, all fans were shocked about Ledger getting Joker's role. But I doubt there are many ppl, who hate this choice.

But Phillipe has another situation. He doesn't look like Dent/2Face and he is too young for this role.

As for Ledger, he proved himself as worth actor after Brokeback Mountain, in which he looked much older than his real age.

Besides, Ledger has Joker's face, smile and hair, so he can pull it off.

No criticism of Ledger as the Joker, my point is that it came out of right field...just like this Phillippe rumor has...so I wouldn't be quick to just dismiss it as purely speculation especially since there is no known fan support for a Phillippe casting.

By the way Phillipe is not too young for the role. He may look too young but he is older than Bale. He's 34.

He's the right age, but he sure doesn't look it.

Yes he does. Maybe the rumors are wrong and he's actually playing Dick Grayson!
