In The End, Was The Wrestling Thread Worth It?

Stephen Farrelly (Sheamus) image based around Celtic mythology and was supposed to be unstereotypical. Farrelly said the WWE wanted to give him a stereotypical drunken fighting Irishman gimmick when he first started there.

Well, he now has a stereotypical sober fighting Irishman gimmick, so that's progress at least.

Even if it is a little stereotypical, it's not a demeaning gimmick at least. I miss the Sheamus from summer 2011, when he was just a badass who'd take on anyone. "I'll fight ya fella" was succinct, to the point, and told you in few words what his character was about.

I wouldn't mind seeing Sheamus turn heel, or even just get an edge to him. If they decide to move Reigns away from the Shield for a Mania match, I think Sheamus would be a great opponent for him.

Wrestling is about stereotypes, and anyone who goes into that industry accepts that, to some degree. I think a mythical Celtic gimmick would go over the heads of a lot of the audience; WWE Raw is no time for an anthropology lesson. Besides, magic-based gimmicks haven't had the best track record (Papa Shango, Fantasio, Mordecai).

That depends on what you do with it.

I was talking more about the Undertaker than anything.

I've been sold on Sheamus ever since his feud with Goldust in ECW. He's the guy who should've been booked like the destroyer, not Ryback. Sheamus isn't that good a promo, so he shouldn't talk a lot. He should always be kind of angry about something and itching to fight. His persona should be similar to Wolverine. Berserker rage!

Sheamus was boring and one-dimensional when he was a heel. Nobody gave a fu** about him back then. He's better off as a face. At least he has personality that way.

Hardcore Heaven '99

Living Dangerously '99

Hardcore Heaven 2000

Guilty as Charged 2001

For me:

Guilty As Charged 2001. Like Sting Vs. Flair for WCW, RVD Vs. Lynn was the perfect fit for the ECW's grand finale.

Living Dangerously 1999 - The best match in the series when it comes down to it. Its like Hardcore Heaven 1999, but without all the botches.

Hardcore Heaven 1999 - This is the match that gets talked about the most by ECW fans, but it had too many botches for my taste.

Hardcore Heaven 2000 - I don't remember anything about this except Jerry Lynn won for a change.

The Right Story

It should've been a documentary. I hate the "Talk for 5 minutes then show the next match" format.

Sheamus works better as a heel, but is much more engaging IMO as a face. It's weird.

Who do you guys think will be the next woman inducted to the WWE hall of fame?

Miss Elizabeth?
Luna Vachon?
Madusa?
Victoria?
Mickie James?

No babyfaces have fire anymore. It's like they all are trying to be chilled out most of the time. Where's the heat building? Where are the personal issues? Punk's feud with Heyman is how you do it. Stuff like Roberts vs Rude, Hart vs Michaels, Austin vs Hart, Flair vs Funk, Flair vs Rhodes, Savage vs Flair, Michaels vs Jericho, Raven vs Dreamer, Raven vs Sandman, Foley vs Triple H, Foley vs Orton. etc. Where's the intensity and drama? Where's the passionate hate?

So what are the chances Sting actually shows up in a WWE ring?

Is Miz a face or Heel? because I honestly can't tell anymore.

Stacy Kiebler lol

One of the things I like about NXT is that from time-to-time they bring in guest instructors. I know that Lance Storm has been a frequent guest instructor.

I would like it if Liz and Randy were inducted together, but it'll probably never happen.

I think they're trying to make him some kind of anti-hero face that's tired of being held down by the company. Supposedly he's getting paired up with Ziggler.

Good thing the WWE did not try to sign a Russian wrestler and then bill him from Kazakhstan.

That character was going somewhere. That dude got the short end of the stick when they rebranded him as Kevin Thorne. He was a broke ass Gangrel.

Lance Storm trained Emma for those who don't know.

She's going to be pretty damn good then.
